test- animation colorist by mayshing test- animation colorist by mayshing
:star: Look to the left, Click Download to download PSD file.

Programs:
Anything that can color will be fine.

Directions:
1. Duplicate lineart layer. Place it under the official lineart.
EX: Layer 1 on top of Layer 1 copy

2. Fill/color on duplicated lineart layer using drop tool, sample color from the finished color sample on file. (NOT the model sheet! The color is different from scene to scene so current model sheet is only for reference.)

3. After finish, check if anything flood outside of your color layer and cause pixellation. If that happened, clean it up so it's neat and clean. If the coloring does not meet requirement I will request retry.

4. Merge down the lineart layer to the duplicated copy layer.

Repeat until you finish.
After you finish email to mayshingATgmail

If you pass you will be listed into the colorist group, when there's job coming I will pass it out to all available artist.

:star: model sheets of the character for your reference: altabe.deviantart.com/art/Jere…

Test for coloring for people interested in helping out with my animation.

I would love to work along side with you on this project. Are you still looking for volunteers?

Since I'm taking a break from art school this year, I would like to spend me time helping out, if I can.

I also placed a donation in for the Edepth project. =)

>.< THAT'S how you do animation? >.< yikes... Looks much harder to do then using flash...

Or do you use flash then transfer the line art over to photoshop?

Man... I wish I had time for this. I had so much fun doing it last time! Unfortunately, last time was during a break between semesters, and now I'm in finals crunch. *sigh*

I'm in my second semester of my Master's program. I'm getting my degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art, University of San Fransisco, online.
I'd love to help over winter break! I'll be a little busy bc I'm going home, but I should have enough time to do a few sets.
I'm debating taking next summer off (I usually do classes during summer so I can finish sooner) because I've decided to start going to cons, but I should probably still be able to help you--It's just lugging all the necessary equipment around that doesn't work for school (they always make you draw everything so HUGE!).

oh yeah, that's fine art illustration.... O_o Those men tend to like their paintings big. lol~~~
I like working smaller too, but i see why they want it bigger, it's more presence in the gallery/museum and whatnot.
I like my digital paintings. lol~~~

Sounds good. :D thanks for helping out then.

I might have an extremely busy summer and winter break too.

Yeah, it's a little frustrating, because even though I'm taking the Graphic Novel track, the classes I take cross over with traditional illustration, and even FINE ART which drives me nuts because the priorities are completely different (Fine art is more about how you do it, whereas illustration sees the end goal as paramount--whatever crazy way you get there is up to you).

I like helping with your anime because it gives me a chance to be a part of something bigger with my art. Plus then I can be all dorky and say "THERE! That half-second right there! I colored that!" lol.

LOL Thanks. i really appreciate you, and many other people helping me out. :D Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Yeah, fine art is VERY different from graphic novel and illustration... at my school they are completely separated major. O.O
Fine art used to mean illustration and it was the commercial projects of the time, now it has turned into something like "I do what i think is art" thing, and sorta fell out of the main stream market.
The main stream now is actually digital matte painting for movies and games. @_@
I hope to get into those in the future. :D

I think that's probably why the fine arts classes are so rediculously stringent... it's like latin--it's somewhat dead, although still useful. As knowing Latin helps you understand English better (particularly some medical and scientific jargon) Knowing how to do the original Fine Arts techniques helps you to create the art you want to make--you can choose from a pallete of techniques to work with. At the same time, it's stopped progressing, and so the instructors are VERY adamant about doing it just so.

When I first got into school, I wasn't really planning on doing much color, because I was thinking I'd do most of my graphic novels in tone (in the manga tradition) but the more I see color comics, particularly the Star Wars ones, the more I think I could really do a lot of nifty stuff with color that you just can't do with tone.

I think I am more of a colorist than inker :XD: I'm such a profectionist with colors and filling in all the gaps. Plus I just enjoy coloring more (using actual ink pens are fun too, but using it on the computer is just different... haha <-- LAME)

Though I should practice inking too.

:) yep no problem. Both are much needed.

Though... it is really hard to recruit inkers compare to colorists. T_T
