This one has a very boring process. lol~

It felt rather quick. Maybe 12 hours or so.

The key is using my own pencil drawing, make a copy and blurred it, and then paint on top of it. Saved a lot of time and retained the details.

Whoa... I always have trouble inking pieces, I hadn't thought of using the sketch like that... I think I'll try it with my next piece.

That is really amazing, the steps you took to get to your finished product. Just out of curiosty, did you do all the detailed colouring on the speed paint layer? o:

Yes, I merged my speed paint layer with my pencil after I set the majority of the value and then continue to paint the details over it.

The results look great, especially since you did it all on one layer, I think I'll try this out. 8D

mostly on one layer, sometimes to adjust lighting I make new layers then merge them
I tend to work with as little bit of layers as possible.

so you speed paint first, then add in the detail on that layer, then duplicate the lineart blur it, then merge it with the speed paint layer (which is set to multiply?) then, if you want to change the lighting a bit you create another layer and add shadows and lighting to them, then merge the layers again?

small amount of layers make it less confusing right?
