Amelie loves her Slap Chop by mayorlight Amelie loves her Slap Chop by mayorlight
This is a cartoon of my coworker Amelie, which I drew a couple of weeks ago.

Amelie has all but adopted "Slap Chop" (which is the name of a kitchen tool: [link] ) as her catchphrase.

One evening, I sat down and penciled and inked this cartoon of her slapping down on a Slap Chop, exclaiming its name in Japanese.

Hopefully I got the katagana correct, flowing top to bottom, right to left: "Su-Ra-Pu Chi-Oh-Pu!!"

Did I miss anything, :iconblack-city-skyline:?

She loved it, as did everyone in the office.

Thanks. I feel that is the best strike effect I've illustrated to date.

The katakana should be:

スラップチョップ

"su-ra-ppu cho-ppu"

I tried to find a way to explain, but it wasn't working out XD Regardless, your katakana in terms of stroke and appearance is way better than mine. Then again, I just have bad handwriting in the first place, so...

As for the picture, I lol'd pretty hard. I want a Slap Chop. Vince Offer is my hero.

Yes, when making ch-, j-, and sh- syllables, you use the kana ending in -i and add a small ya, yu, yo, or e. Also a small tsu will shorten the last vowel. I admit those rules don't seem to make much sense.

It's a kitchen tool for chopping/slicing/dicing - so-named since all you have to do is fit it over what you want to chop, and then just slap down on the top. =P
