This is a beautiful tree & a beautiful photograph!! I can see the wizard plainly - what a wonderful idea!!

Thanks Zara. It was my husband that spotted him! Well, he saw the head and then I saw the body. We were cruising on the Murray Princess out of Mannum SA for a week. It was such a peaceful time - just incredible.

I flew over to Perth at the start of 1978 (I would have been 16 y/o then), at my brother's command, to stay with my brother there. Perth was a lovely, clean city. We went to Fremantle Market, swam in a waterfall somewhere there, went north for a while, and then came back to Victoria through the Nullarbor Desert. Apart from my horrible brother, it was a great trip!!

I had my first child in '79. And yes, Perth still is lovely and clean for the most part. Graffitti has been invented in the meantime, but the councils keep up with removing it pretty well.
Hmmm, trying to think where the waterfall would be - unless it was a scrawny little thing up Greenmount Hill? There used to be a natural bathing pool in John Forest National Park I think, and perhaps some falling water there?
Laughing about 'horrible brother'. I've yet to drive the Nullabor.

The natural bathing pool sounds right!! Brother is definitely horrible - one of the worst people I've ever had the misfortune to know. :D

Ha! Maybe it's because we know family *so* well that when they're bad, we see every tiny part of it.

Thank you. This is my favourite of the 3 views of it. Perhaps I should have put it on here as a tryptych but I was really new to DA when I put them up.

I think it looks perfect just the way it is :)

So they have it roped off? What's with that.

We were on a paddle steamer on the river for a week's holiday. The ropes were just from the boat where we had moored overnight.

Oh. Thanks for explaining that to me.

Thank you very much. Did you find the wizard sitting on the branch? He's close to the tree, sitting on the lowest right hand branch. You can see his head and hat clearly (in hi res anyway) and then you can see his body and legs afterwards. The whole tree has a beautiful aged character to it.

I see him :D I was looking for a garden gnome lol.

LOL - well done. There are lots of faces in the tree but the wizard is the whole person and so clear.
