Angie by maxlake2 Angie by maxlake2
Pigtown,
Baltimore

Angie was always quite honest about the severity of her drug addiction, as well as how she supports that addiction. Angie is the mother of the girl in the middle of the image titled "Colors" www.deviantart.com/deviation/1….

Nevertheless, I have always found Angie to be a kind person. . .

Sorry didt read the text at first just look at the picture and write what I felt looking on it.
The imige is great because you captured a moment I like it but drug addiction can be hard.

I like the picture it seems so nice and spontaneous, just how you imagine your neighbor during summer time!

Steve,
I had feared for how Angie might be doing, but I saw her not very long ago (just as I was driving by), and she looked much better. . .  The girl in the center of the photo titled "Colors" fav.me/db9iwg is her daughter. . .
:)

Excellent.  It's a tough life to survive, much less to rise above.  Do a reprise of her and her daughter if you get a chance.

Great image. Baltimore has a serious heroin problem that just isn't being addressed at all. Dixon is so obsessed with picking up litter, but the city really has more dire needs right now. Heroin does really nasty things to the body - so many people are struggling with it. So sad. A lot of people are dying young from that awful drug.

Very true - on all counts!
I spent many months getting to know the people of Pigtown before I ever pulled out a camera. Trust is difficult for outsiders to earn there - largely because of drugs. Point a camera at a drug dealer/drug runner/drug lookout and bad things will happen to you. It took me a while to learn the "players." Unfortunately, there's no scorecard!

wonderful and powerful image. the story behind it gives quite another connotation that is very impressive and touching. and beyond of how well composed is this shot, and beyond the beauty of it, seeing this under the knowledge of its true context really enhances the impact that might have on sensitive people before such situations. amazing work!

Angie is a very sad case. I'm surprised that she is still alive even . . .
Thank you for your very kind words . . .
Cheers,
Richard

Heartbreaking what drugs can do to a person, I am glad you took this picture and placed it in your gallery, this life style is heartbreaking R, it truely is, it takes every dream away, and never allows and new ones in. This is perfect in colour it would have lost something in B/W. K
