The Shire (Middle Earth)

A personal work depicting the Shire from The Lord of the Rings' Middle Earth. Though I didn't intend to make a canonical and 100% accurate map,  I had the feeling we lack some color map of the Hobbits Lands and so here's my contribution.

Hey Maxime. Are you still taking custom commissions? I've messaged you.

Hi Maxime!

Do you sell this map on print or digital version?

Really beautiful creation BTW :)

This map is so detailed and clear it might be better than what Tolkein was able to do in his day! We are not worthy, we are not worthy! ;)

Thank you for this!!!

Absolutely love this map!!
Canonical maps are unfortunately lacking in detail so i am happy you decided to add what is nessecary to make it more realistic on this scale. Thanks.

OH! As an LotR fan, I absolutely love it! =) Honestly, I need to just admit that most of my 'gorgeous cartography' fav section is your work.

thats amazing, can you telll how you sraw the woods?
MaximePLASSE's avatar
Thanks! I'm not sure to understand your question though

Yeap, sorry, spelling mistake XD y ask if you can tell me how you draw woods in maps which are seen from above
MaximePLASSE's avatar
well actually it's isn't strictly a map seen from above, I'm rather using a "faux-perspective" here. So the geographic stuff like mountains, hills or forests is drawn with it while the map isn't really a prespective built one.
