Description

Bivouac at 2750m. Sunset over the mountains and the cloud sea...

I'm back from a trip to the Pico d'Aneto, 3404m. It's the highest peak of the Pyrenees. We got on the summit sunday morning :)

This is a very beautiful shot, and it seems like the view from up there was great! I love the feeling of motion in this photograph, how the clouds seem to be flowing over the sides of the mountains like water. They look very soft and light in comparison to the harsh mountain-side. The angle of the shot is also very nicely done -- I feel like I'm looking into the scene, rather than just looking at it. Although I do like the colors in the sky, they feel a little washed-out to me. A stronger orange or warmer yellow would have made a nice contrast to the black and white of the foreground. Also, the photograph seems to lack depth. The white on the mountains masks the contours that they could have created. You could try to play around with lighting a bit to create more shadows and highlights for this depth. Overall, I do really like this picture!
