Hair Painting Tutorial

Many people have asked me many times about doing a tutorial about how I paint hair. So there you go, here it is. Since it is rather detailed, I made it a PDF document.

I used photoshp and the base picture is a 3D render.

Please be nice since english is a foreign language for me. Also - I have never rally ever written tutorials before. :-)

[link] are the brushes I used for this work. Go and get them, they are great and they are for free. Please also show *nathie some love for those!

Hit "download" for the PDF! You at least need the Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing it.

I do not claim to own the ultimate wisdom on digital hair painting.... this just shows how I do it. Also you should have an idea of how photoshop works if you want to follow this.... but then I am also sure that this might work in other professional programs as well. :)

I don't know what I'm doing!' XD

Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to do the hair, start to finish?

definitely not a problem. ^_^ glad that I have been improving as well. :D

ironic that I was doing over half of the tutorial without seeing the tutorial. rofl but I hadn't done the layer masking, using nathie's brushes, and using 1pt for the brush in most of the painting. Also had forgotten of the shadows for the characters too. ^^' I shall use the brushes spoken of, as well as this tut, and hopefully it'll look a lot better. :D thx thx Mav. ^^ :icondragonglomp:
So your work is out of this effin' world!  awesome art and tutorial!
