Dream Theater 6 Degrees Display - Tower Records

Just putting up something quick. And a LONG overdue posting of another Tower Records Display in 2002.

So being that Dream Theater was one of my fave Prog Metal bands, it was 2002 and the latest album
"Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" was to be released, as a 2 CD Concept Album (Disc 2).
It became my 2nd favorite album in their illustrious catalogue.
Also their live DVD "Live Scenes of a Memory: Metropolis Book II" was being released as well, so I put the
2 together (and a wrote a poetic bio on one of the attached protruding pieces). Since their 1st album was
not on the Elektra label ("When Dream and Day Unite"), there was no image to place on it, since we didn't
have a computer at the store, where I could go get a copy.
So this was made with promotional material given to me by the label. This is 1 of 2 Displays that was not
asked by the label to create. But being the huge fan, I asked the supervisor of the store permission to
"Whip-up" a quick display in-between P.O.P. displays that had to go up. Since I put extra effort in many of
these displays, I got lots of promos, and had gotten the Live DVD and 6 Degrees Album from the reps.

Everything was mounted on black foam core (I used to cut all pieces with an angled cut, so each piece was
so razor sharp you could cut yourself) and cut with a boxcutter. The only parts that were not mounted
were the "Majesty" DT Logos, which I believe I traced from the promo material, and cut other promotional
images as a stencil with an Xacto knife. Since we had a Art store around the corner, I purchased bendable
wires to hold them up. The "Bio" was printed out with the divider card printer, so it was a bit crude, but the
font worked with the promo pieces.

I tried to find as many Progressive Rock and Prog Metal CD's to put under the display, but it seemed we
were very low on those genres in January, I guess because most of it was sold off during the previous
Christmas Holiday, as the album was released in January 29, 2002.
