Pebble for the Dead by MauserGirl Pebble for the Dead by MauserGirl
Leaving pebbles or stones on top of a tomb stone is a Jewish tradition. It means that someone honored the dead person's memory with a visit to the grave. I found this very interesting because this pebble was placed on a tomb stone belonging to a German soldier who died as a POW at Fort Drum (then Pine Camp), New York.
