Bedside Conversation by MauserGirl Bedside Conversation by MauserGirl
I was going through some photographs of the first years of the Global War on Terror and came across a set of photos shot by a Navy photographer by the name of Erica Mater aboard the hospital ship USS Comfort. Among them is the one this painting is based on - a photo of two wounded soldiers talking to each other. (In case anyone cares for the information, the original photograph depicts SGT Jose Torres (laying down) and CPL Michael Mead.)

I figured I'd give it a try for coloring practice and to try something different with the line art. I think it came out nice. I did change it some from the original but the pose is pretty much the same (and the reference was real helpful with the way the clothing and bedding wrinkles, because I *suck* at doing folds in fabric.)

I'm not including this in my "Random Scenes from an Army Hospital" series because the style is so different, but if you like this, *pretty please* check out my other stuff. It would be much appreciated.
