I never expected that journal to get such a level of response. Ten favorites, four comments, and one mention in less than a day. That's far stronger than any of my other journals, where I usually end up talking to myself.
I'm touched, guys. I really am. So allow me to elaborate on the heart of the matter.
When I wrote it, I was frustrated. Both at things I've gone through and things I am going through at the present. And they all seemed to boil down to one thing in particular.
As a member of one myself, I find the current mindset and behavior involving minorities to be personally insulting. Not just to me, or one of my best friends (a black woman whose upbringing was equal to my own), but people that have gone through legitimate hardship and have to work through it every day of their lives.
