A Bike Ride with BumbleBy
“I’ll take a Dr Piper, and my special lady will have an iced tea, thanks.”
Their waitress, a relatively short woman with a tanned complexion, gave a warm, friendly smile on her face and jotted down Yang Xiao Long’s drink orders. “Coming right up, dears,” she said before turning back to the bar to collect the drinks.
Blake Belladonna looked up to face her girlfriend on the other side of the table. “So, Yang. Where exactly are you taking me for this ‘special treat’?”
“If I told you that, it wouldn’t be a surprise, Blake.” The golden-haired woman winked at her partner with a playful grin that made the latter giggle despite her slight concerns about what she had planned for her. Yang’s ideas of what constituted a good time, by her own admission, generally involved ‘Cruising on her motorcycle, dancing at a shady club all night long, and beating on a roomful of bad guys.’ So Blake, being a more of a bookish introvert, doubted very much that it would hurt in asking what she had in store.
