I wanted to remind people that, whilst my homeland in England is going through a constitutional crisis of neglect from the UK Government, Scotland is dealing with her own issues that have been been frequently distorted by armchair historians and tabloids.
In Anglia, we are all less interested in Scottish Independence as we are devolution for our own country. But one frequently parroted myth amongst those who come to the table with no intention to rationally discuss the concept of an English Devolved Parliament, is that we somehow conquered the Scots. It is a point of pride for any true Scot that they were NEVER conquered by any country that invaded them, be it England, Norway, or the Roman Empire. As such, you need to read this article and some actual history books about figures such as James VI of Scotland, who literally unified the Kingdoms in 1603.
