 Basics

Bullet; White Spots are one of the most versatile markings in the group.
Bullet; White In your ketucari's genotype, spotting is denoted by the letters "nSt" (heterozygous) or "StSt" (homozygous).
Bullet; White In its heterozygous form, somatic has a pass rate of 45%. Homozygous spotting has a 70% pass rate.

Color and Shape

Spots must be a darker color of your chosen base, with a minor deviation in hue. It can also be a fully desaturated color of the base, as long as it is darker. Spots may be pure black.

These colors would be acceptable for this base color. They are either a darker version of the base, or a darker and desaturated version of the base. The last color on the right shows a minor deviation in hue, and is slightly more yellow than the base itself. Notice that this small change is not overbearing.

These colors would be unacceptable for spots. They are either lighter than the base coat or have too drastic a hue shift.

Shapewise, spots can have soft or hard edges. Spots can have any of the shapes below. A single ketucari can have a combination of different spot types. In long feathers, the spots may be a bit blended or "stretched out" to show the texture of the feathers.

Range

Spotting can appear anywhere on the body. It has no minimum or maximum range, but must be immediately noticeable in the design.

Interaction with Other Markings

Bullet; White All markings can be layered under or over spotting.
Bullet; White  Keep in mind that, like many other markings, spots can change color where they overlap with colorful markings such as frill and hued points.
Bullet; White Spots can be influenced by marblinginfernovapor, and segment.
Bullet; White If a ketucari has both marbling and spotting, the markings may combine to make rosettes.

Bullet; White If a ketucari has strand, marbling, and spotting, the three may be combined to make a pattern similar to a king cheetah (note that
the reddish color of the spots below is caused by rust)
