Artist | Hobbyist | Traditional Art
Czech Republic
I am a traditional artist and illustrator. I live in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic, with my wife and two children.
I work mainly as a freelance graphic and web designer (making websites, posters and print publications), but I am also a self-taught traditional artist, I take commissions and sell my pictures online in my Etsy shop.
As an artist, I focus on landscapes, architecture and fantasy illustrations. My great love and inspiration is the world of J. R. R. Tolkien (see Tolkien folder) and I've created many illustrations based on his books. But I am also inspired by other fantasy worlds as well as real-life landscapes and architecture. My speciality is decorative border designs, taking inspiration from various historical art styles. I have often used my traditional art in my graphic design projects, too.

I have recently launched a Patreon page. If you like my art and want to see more of it and get some tangible rewards from me, consider joining me there as my patrons. It would mean a lot to me!

I have a personal website and a site called Angrenost about the world of J. R. R. Tolkien (in Czech) with my illustrations.

If you like my art, I have some exciting news for you. I have been thinking about how to make my artistic work more sustainable, as painting takes time, while I work full-time as a graphic designer and must take care of my family too. I do take commissions and sell pictures on Etsy, but not everyone is able to buy them, so I thought about another way so that people who find value in my art could express that, showing their appreciation and getting acknowledgement for that. Therefore, I decided to launch my Patreon page!

👉 👈

You don't know what Patreon is?
It is a place for connecting artists and their fans. It has been compared to an ongoing Kickstarter: Instead of one-off sponsoring for a product, you literally become a Patron of the Arts, supporting artists themselves and their continuous work, with any amount you want (starting as low as $1 per month) for as long as you want. The great thing about it is that the rewards you get are ongoing, too!

If you appreciate my art, then by supporting me there you can help me to devote more time and energy to my artistic work and stay focused on things that I love to create, so I can make more even art. Another dimension is that people who care about my work and so they decide to become my patrons have a special place and I highly value their opinion, so they can provide me with valuable feedback and critique as well as inspiration and suggestions for future work.  👨🏼‍ 🎨

Aside from the pleasure of helping an aspiring artist on his artistic journey you also get more concrete rewards for your support.
You, as patrons, can see my artwork sooner than anyone else. You will also see various sketches and work-in-progress shots which I won't share elsewhere. You get access to exclusive hi-res versions of art, wallpapers, avatars and other digital content. You can direct my work in suggestion boxes and polls. You get discounts for my Etsy shop. On higher tiers you can regularly get physical rewards such as prints of my art. You can even have free commissions from me.

Any questions? Let me know! :-)

  • Drinking:
Osgiliath was founded by Isildur and Anárion, after the Downfall of Númenor as the capital of the Southern Kingdom. There their thrones stood side by side, while the brothers held the fortresses of Minas Anor (later Minas Tirith) to the south-west and Minas Ithil (Minas Morgul) to the north-east, guarding the capital.
In the days of its glory, the city featured quays to handle sea-going vessels that came up from the sea, a great stone bridge supporting houses and towers of stone, and the Dome of Stars, which housed the Osgiliath-stone, the greatest of the seven Palantíri.
The beginning of the city's decline came during the Kin-strife, when it was sacked and burned in T.A. 1437 after a siege by the rebel Castamir's forces. The Great Plague of T.A. 1636 led to further depopulation and the capital was moved to the more secure Minas Anor in T.A. 1640. As Gondor endured many military defeats east of the Anduin during the following centuries, especially the fall of Minas Ithil in T.A. 2002, Osgiliath became vulnerable to attack and its population continued to shrink until it was finally abandoned in T.A. 2475 when it was captured temporarily by Uruk-hai. In later years Gondor maintained only a military garrison in the western half of the ruined city.
Only after the War of the Ring the city was rebuilt, although the capital of king Elessar remained in Minas Tirith.

pen, watercolour, coloured pencils

So this illustration shows Osgiliath during its days of glory (before the Kin-strife), with the great bridge and the Dome of Stars. In the background you can see mount Mindolluin and the city of Minas Anor.

Art vs Artist 2019
Yay, it's time for another Art vs Artist! 🖼️👨‍🎨🖼️ This thing apparently never gets old, so here is a bit of bandwagon-jumping from me, with some of my art from the last year.🎨
As I rarely do character portraits, I cannot ask whether the art resembles the artist, but still, you can judge whether you see some connection.🙂
