As I’ve said before, I’ll be giving updates about the progress of basically all my Death Battles going forward. Luckily, I have some news! The Prelude for A VS Zen is nearly finished! In short, all the research for it as wrapped up. All that’s left is writing the script/summary for both characters that my co-host and I will be using. It’s been an interesting process overall considering how similar, yet different, Persona and Xenoblade are mechanically. I mean like, outside of turn-based vs real-time combat and such. We’ll go much deeper into the differences during the Prelude and the conclusion once the fight itself releases. Expect the Prelude to drop soon (not today, but soon)

A (Xenoblade Chronicles 3) VS Zen (Persona Q) I could’ve announced this yesterday as it was basically my primary choice. However, I also would’ve had to move my following episodes around to keep things from being redundant. I have two new Death Battle ideas in mind that I’ve not made templates for that I’m mixing in to keep things fresh. Either way, A VS Zen is the next Death Battle, and since they’re JRPG characters, it’ll take a while to research and write everything down. Either way, I hope everyone looks forward to it!

So, the next Death Battle I had lined up was going to be A-Tak from Galak-Z VS Mason Rana from Starlink: Battle for Atlas. However, I’ve run into a lot of issues in regards to the research, entirely on A-Tak’s side. So basically, A-Tak has two games to pull information from; Galak-Z: The Void, and Galak-Z: Variant S. The first one is still able to be played through, as I’ve done so for the research. However, once you beat Season 4 and start The Void, things switch up drastically. The story is shafted almost immediately, and things appear hopeless for A-Tak and his crew. That’s where Variant S comes in. In terms of its story, it’s a sequel and something I could easily download and play, right? Well, no. Since it started as a mobile game that eventually got a Switch port, it eventually shut down (The Android and iOS versions shut down March 1st, 2020, with the Switch version shutting down January 31st, 2021) So, I don’t have a way to play this game.
