Peter: Alright. The combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
John: It's time, for a Death Battle!!!!
Sirens rang throughout the base as footsteps were heard running throughout the halls. On occasions, the sound of a metallic weapon was being used to bang against the heads of some soldiers. A boy, looking like he's in his teens, killed one last soldier, leaving the entrance open for access. The persona smirked and opened up the door. The guy in question wore a red shirt, baggy-ish pants, a bag that looked like it'd be used for golf, a baseball cap with a headset, and a dog tag. This person was known by his team as the Scout.
The Scout walked over to his prize, a blue briefcase. However, the wall in front of him blew open, covering the room in an blinding light. Scout shielding his eyes, but opened them when the light dimmed down. In the 'doorway' was what appeared to be a man, a very very slim man. Scout lowered his guard, unsure of what to say. His eyes widened when realizing that ain't no man. The girl he was faced to face with only said one thing.
"Cheers love, the calvary's here!"
Scout stood still for a moment, mouth dropped wide open. "Oh? That's odd. I thought Winston would've been here by now." She said to herself, almost ignoring the Scout. When she was done looking around the room, she turned her attention to Scout.
"Umm..hello there." Said Tracer. Scout shook his head as he snapped back into reality. "Huh? Oh, uh. Here there." Said Scout. He was thinking about hitting on Tracer, but he stopped himself. 'No, crap! I got that job with Ms. Pauline! I can't hit on dis chick! But...she's just really hot!' Scout thought to himself.
"Ok, uh. Hi the-" Scout didn't finish as he realized Tracer and the briefcase was gone. "Da crap." He double jumped through the hole Tracer had made and gave chase. With no problem, he kept up with Tracer.
"Hey! Wait! I need that briefcase!" Scout said. Tracer stopped and turned to face the Boston boy. "Sorry, love. Overwatch needs this more than you." "Oh yeah? Well, dis 'Overwatch' thing can come and take it in front of my team and I's face." Scout threatened. Tracer giggled at the thought of Overwatch bursting through a wall and beating up on Scout.
"Listen, scrawny, we have more important things to do then waste our time with you and your baseball team." She said. "What!? Baseball!? No! We're mercenaries." Scout said. "Look, sweetheart, I'm taking that briefcase, and that's final!"
Tracer took out her Pulse Pistols, leaving Scout to take out his Scattergun.
Scout fired first at Tracer, but she Blinked out of the way. Scout fired again and again, only for the same thing to happen. Scout started running himself. "Ah geez! She can teleport! Just my luck!" Scout complained. Tracer started to fire her Pulse Pistols at the Scout, but he was barely fast enough to outrun them. Scout switched to his own pistol and started firing, but Tracer Blinked out of the way, this time, though, she had to wait to Blink again.
Scout switched back to the Scattergun and fired, though like before, Tracer Blinked out of the way. When she was in view, she returned fire with her Pulse Pistols. Scout ran and double jumped to avoid the laser fire.
"Why can't you stay still!?" Tracer asked, rather annoyed. "That's the thing, toots. Staying still ain't me thing." Scout said as he kept running and shooting at her. Scout jumped behind a rock for cover. He switched to the Force-a-Nature and waited for Tracer to get him. Tracer did, but before Scout could fire his gun, Tracer disarmed his of his weapon and kicked him, charging up her Ultimate Gauge. Scout landed on the ground, but immediately started getting shot at by the Pulse Pistols.
Scout started running and took out the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol and fired at Tracer right after she Blinked trying to catch up to him. The bullet hit Tracer, followed by more bullets. At the same time, however, Scout was getting some of his health back. He was about to fire another bullet, but Tracer activated her Recall and time rewinded for her. Suddenly, the wounds the bullets had made and the bullets themselves were no longer there.
Scout stopped moving in shock. "What!?" He questioned. "Sorry, mate. It's going to take more than that to stop me!" Tracer said. Scout started moving again, but instead of shooting at him, Tracer threw her Pulse Bomb in front of Scout. Scout stopped himself and took out the Bonk! Atomic Punch and started to drink from it.
The Pulse Bomb exploded, leaving Tracer to think she had won. When the smoke started to clear, Scout didn't wait. He ran out of the smoke, much faster than before. "Wanananana." Scout said as he took the briefcase from Tracer's Chronal Accelerator. "Woosh!" He said as he passed by her. "Hey! What the-!?" Tracer said, confused. She started chasing after the Scout by using her Blinks.
The Scout started to slow down as the effects of his Bonk! Atomic Punch was wearing off. He switched his weapon to the. Baby Face's Blaster and started firing at Tracer. Tracer Blinked out of the way of each shot, but got hit by some of the bullets while her Blinks were cooling down. Scout only got faster because of this. He switched to the Wrap Assassin and waited for Tracer to appear after she Blinked. He whacked the Christmas Ornament at Tracer, and it hit her in the face, causing some blood to stream down her face. "Ha! Couldn't teleport away from dat, now could 'ya!?" Scout taunted.
Tracer started to move towards Scout, but her version was blurry. Scout pulled out his pistol and fired at Tracer, but she activated Recall once more and reversed her own time, ridding the bleeding effect as well. "You gotta be kidding me!" Scout said.
Tracer Blinked to Scout and started firing at him. Scout ran as fast as he could, taking some of the laser fire that hit his back. Scout jumped behind the same cover as before and picked up the dropped Force-a-Nature. He took out his Crit-a-Cola and tapped it on the shotgun, making the Soda Popper.
Instead of Tracer moving in for the kill, her instincts told her to stay put and let Scout show himself in the two obvious places he would appear. "Look, baby face, I haven't got all day." Tracer said. "Yeah well..." Scout said as he started to jump on thin air multiple times. "...we don't always get what we want."
Tracer saw Scout jump and holding the Soda Popper that was now pink. Scout fired, but Tracer Blinked out of the way. Scout landed in the place that Tracer used to be, his gun no longer pink. Tracer pointed her Pulse Pistols at Scout, who drank another can of Bonk! Atomic Punch. Scout ran at Tracer, whom was trying to shoot him, but Scout moved too fast for the laser bullets to hit him. As Scout reached, his 8 seconds of invincibility were over. Scout took out his baseball bat and swung at Tracer.
For her own amusement, Tracer decided to get in close, fighting Scout hand-to-hand. Er, Pulse Pistols-to-bat.
Tracer ducked under a swing of the baseball bat and tripped Scout. She then Blinked backwards and threw a Pulse Bomb beside him. Scout quickly got up, jumped, and fired the Soda Popper at the Pulse Bomb. The force of the gun pushed Scout back, and the Pulse Bomb exploded, pushing Scout back even further.
Instead of landing on his legs, Scout accidentally hit the ground with his back. As he got up, Tracer Blinked towards him. Scout fired at her, but she just Blinked to his left and fired at Scout's Soda Popper, destroying it. "Oh dat's just great." Scout said. Scout took out the Spellbook Magazine and readied himself for Tracer.
"A magazine? Are you going to advertise me to death?" Tracer said sarcastically. Scout turned to Tracer and opened the magazine. "Capatus Crepitus!" He said. Scout's hand lite on fire and he shot fire from his hand at Tracer. Overwatch's famed pilot was caught off guard, but she managed to Blink out of the way. Scout threw another fire ball at Tracer, but instead, she flipped over it.
"Deus Invictus!" Scout said. He threw a glowing ball from his hand. Said ball turned to a swarm of bats that went straight towards Tracer. Tracer attempted to Blink away, but she was too slow this time and the bats struck her, causing her to bleed.
Tracer took out her Pulse Pistols and fired them at Scout, who already had a spell in mind to get around Tracer. "Ipsum Instantarium!" Scout shouted. He threw a smoke ball behind Tracer and instantly teleported behind her. "What the-!?" Tracer said confused. She frantically looked around, then behind her, just in time to dodge Scout's Home Run taunt kill.
Scout took out the spell book again, but Tracer wasn't about to let him use it. She grabbed the magazine. "Not this time, yan-" Scout punched Tracer in the face, not caring for what she had to say. Scout decided to use a rare spell. "Seismela Tremoro!" Like before, he threw fire at Tracer. This time, Tracer was too distracted with the immense pain in her jaw to Blink out of the way. The fire ball hit her, but very little damage was dealt.
"Was that all, love?" Tracer asked. Scout smirked and pointed up, and Tracer followed him and looked up. When she did, her jaw dropped at the sight slid meteors heading towards her. Tracer Blinked and started running. The meteors were everywhere, and Tracer knew she couldn't Blink away in time. She activated her Recall once more and soon was in the was in the same place prior to Blinking and running away. "Mor-!" Scout was interrupted by the Pulse Pistols hitting him. Tracer Blinked and quickly took the Spellbook Magazine away from him and ripped it in half.
"Let's see how you do without your magic, love!" Tracer said. Scout, frustrated with Tracer, took out the Baby Face's Blaster again and fired at Tracer, who Blinked away. When she was in sight again, Scout shot her in the arm. Scout fired again, and Tracer Blinked again. The same thing happened, Scout ended up landing a shot on her.
Tracer returned fire with the Pulse Pistols, but Scout started running to avoid getting hit by them. But Scout's speed was even more tremendous this time. Scout started to run away from Tracer. "Come get some you frikin' wuss!" Scout taunted. Tracer gave chase, Blinking as soon as she could to keep up with the Scout. Though as soon as Tracer Blinked close enough to Scout, he shot her with his gun.
Tracer fell to the ground and activated the Recall and regained only some of her health. Scouts was annoyed by this point. Tracer started to Blink again to catch up with Scout, however, even with Blink, Scout was moving faster than she was. Tracer attempted to Blink again, but her Chronal Accelerator malfunctioned, and she could no longer Blink or Recall, or use her Pulse Pistols as well.
"And away I go! Wanananana!" Scout said as he ran towards Tracer. Scout hit and knocked Tracer over with his gun and his speed and pointed it at her Chronal Accelerator. "Bang!" Scout said. He fired and the bullets destroyed the Chronal Accelerator. "Oh no..." Tracer said. Scout aimed the Baby Face's Blaster at Tracer's face and fired, but the bullets went through her. Suddenly, Tracer started to fade away. "Uhh. Dat was not the plan. Oh well. Woosh!" Scout said as he held on to the briefcase and ran.
John: Ok...what?
Peter: What?
John: How...how the hell did Tracer lose!?
Peter: Well, we're about to get into it. This was very close. Tracer's Blink and Recall would keep her in the game long enough to keep up with the Scout.
John: Yes, Scout's average speed is 17mph, but he can boost his speed by dealing damage with the Baby Face's Blaster to not only keep up, but eventually get ahead, even with her Blink.
Peter: And Scout has a much bigger arsenal with insane abilities. Yes, Tracer could Blink and Recall, but abusing her Blinks too much damaged her Chronal Accelerator, giving the Scout the opening he needed to destroy the machine.
John: And that's all Scout needed to do in the first place. The Chronal Accelerator 'anchors' Tracer to the current timeplain. Meaning that if it's destroyed, she'd start to fade away again. And Scout's whacky weaponry were enough to do just that. Considering they're strong enough to destroy robots and damage/eventually destroy tanks, they could easily destroy the Chronal Accelerator. But how could he even last that long?
Peter: Well, Scout's insane durability could help him survive punishment of the Pulse Pistols. And the Bonk! Atomic Punch and rocket feat could allow him to survive the Pulse Bomb.
John: But wouldn't he be caught off guard by Blink and Recall?
Peter: He would, at first, but this guy and his team has fought stranger people with stranger and more dangerous abilities than Tracer. And yes, Recall could heal Tracer of her health, but only in the past 3 seconds. Scout has weapons and spells that can heal him by dealing damage to others or by doing things like teleporting and jumping.
John: Or Scout could finish off Tracer early by hitting her with the Sandman while she's waiting 3 seconds for her Blink to cold down. This could stun her, making her unable to use her abilities and go in for the kill. Cause if McCree could stun her with Flash Bang to counter her, there's no reason to say Scout can't do the same.
Peter: And yes, while Tracer's reaction is faster than Scout's, the Bonk! Atomic Punch would allow Scout to avoid anything Tracer has to throw at him. Scout's approximate speed under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch is Mach 58.3. While his reaction time is fast enough to dodge fire from the Engineer's Short Circuit, which shoots lighting from it. Meaning, while Tracer's reaction time is 0.011 seconds, Scout's (under the effects of the Bonk! Atomic Punch!) is 11.72 microseconds.
John: But isn't Scout very cocky?
Peter: He is, but that's because he wants people to see him superior to them. In Expiration Date, we see Scout admit this to Spy.
Scout: "Ok. Look. Fine. Spy, this never leaves this room. You are better than me, alright? I need your help."
John: Tracer can be very cocky and toys around with her opponents. Yes, she knows when to get serious, but so does Scout.
Peter: If Tracer toys around with highly trained assassins trying to take a supposed Skyscraper busting gauntlet, there's no reason to say she wouldn't toy around with Scout.
John: And Scout's taunting and boasting would actually make Tracer more reckless with her Blink, thus causing it to malfunction and basically give Scout the opeing he needs to win.
Peter: Yes, Tracer is more experienced in general, but Scout has more experience fighting whacky things.
John: In the end, Lena Oxton faded away...without a trace.
Peter: The winner is the Scout.
