Axel: Alright, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Felix: It's time, for a Death Battle!!!
She hooped onto the roof of this school. Loco did not know what school this was known as, but it didn't worry her too much. Her superiors were specific with their information. As the strongest Rook, Loco was given a solo mission to take out one 'Houdai Kudoki'. The reason was unknown, but Loco didn't feel like asking for any more information. If they wanted him dead, then she'd kill him, no question. Plain and simple.
Loco jumped down from the roof and down to the nearest lamppost she could find. It was near the tennis yard, where she found a boy talking with a mask on this side of her head. Loco took a look at the picture she had and then at the boy, immediately realizing he was Houdai Kudoki. Loco jumped from the lamppost and approached the two. "Excuse me." Loco said, getting the two's attention. "Uh, hello?" Houdai greeted. Loco stopped in front of the two, holding onto a peculiar suitcase. "Houdai Kudoki," Loco set the case down. "prepare to die." The Rook's words shocked the two, but the smaller girl grew a serious expression on her face.
"I normally fight demons, but I'll make an exception with you." She cracked her knuckles before taking out a paper shuriken. "You're not laying a finger on him!!!"
Maya started throwing multiple paper shurikens at Loco, who'm stood there and deflected them with her suitcase. Maya ran towards Loco throwing more at the girl, following up the attack by throwing a paper craft.
Loco swiftly moved to avoid the shurikens and blocked the paper craft with her suit case. She put her case onto the back of her robe and got into a fighting position. Loco threw more paper shurikens at Loco, who jumped to the side to avoid them. Loco ran towards Maya to get in close, but Maya didn't like that idea and jumped back as Loco approached her, throwing more paper shurikens at her. Loco ducked under to avoid them, but one managed to strike her, giving her a cut more deep than your average paper cut.
Maya unleashed Houdai-kun. The doll ran towards Loco before jumping up into the air. Loco eyes slowly followed the doll, and she saw it raining from the sky, but three more had been present as it did so. Loco jumped out of the way, but they hit the ground anyway, making a large explosion and pushing Loco back.
Maya took the opportunity and started throwing more paper shurikens at Loco, whom managed to get up. Loco unfortunately did not have the time to avoid the incoming barrage of paper shurikens, and could only attempt to protect herself. They cut through her clothes with perfect precision, also leave cut ups on her arms, face, and some parts of her legs.
Maya walked forward towards Loco, holding another paper shuriken between her fingers. "I'm warning you to leave now! I'm not afraid to do even more damage!" Maya said. Loco looked up to her foe, and planned her next move carefully. In a swift motion, Loco quickly stood up, grabbed onto Mays's head, flipped around behind her, and jumped off the demon hunter by jumping off her back. Maya fell face first onto the ground and proceeded to get up.
While she was distracted, Loco took the opportunity and took her case out and started opening it up. She sorted through the case and found exactly what she needed. "Let's use this." Loco said, pulling out a necklace looking item. Maya turned around to face Loco who stood up and held the item. "One of the Seven Items of Curses, Negzero." Loco rose it up. "Seize thine movement!" She said. Maya did not like where this was going and prepared to throw a paper shuriken, but she felt unable to move. "W-what's going on!? Why can't I move!?"
Loco knelt down to her case and picked it up and lifted it in front of her. "Cursed Voodoo Doll!" Suddenly a straw doll popped out of the case despite there being no way for it to logically fit in there unless it's broken down. The doll gave off a creepy vibe to Maya, it did have chains on it and a skull, after all. Loco set it down onto the ground and then sorted through her case once more. She took out two curious looking strange, yet familiar looking tools. "Spike..." She said, raising a spike. "and Hammer." Maya's eyes did as she realized what was going on.
Loco wasted no time and she placed the spike near the left arm of the doll. She struck it with her Hammer, nailing it into the doll's arm. Maya felt extreme pain, mostly in her left arm. Loco took out another spike and nailed it in the right arm, making Maya scream in pain again. She preceded to nail the doll's left legs with two more spikes, ending in the same screams as before.
Loco reached into her case and pulled out one more spike, and aimed to nail it in the chest. Maya wasn't about to let her and did what she could only do; shout. "STOP IT!!!!!" Maya shouted loudly, catching Loco's attention. Loco turned and was surprised to see Maya's beg for mercy to turn into an unexpected attack. Her words manifested into physical objects that Loco could see, and the moved towards the Rook. Loco analyzed how fast they were going, and she figured that letting them touch her would be a bad idea.
Loco moved out of the way of the words, letting them hit the straw doll, causing more pain to rush through Maya. Loco got a good grip on the final spike and held it up to the chest. She nailed it in, and one final yelp could be heard from Maya.
With Negzero'd effects removed, Maya fell to the ground. No physical damage had seem to have been done, but Loco could tell she was now dead. Loco started to pack up her things and looked around. Her target seemed to have ran away, but he wouldn't be running for long.
Felix: Damn. That was dark.
Axel: While this is one of the most intriguing Death Battles we've ever seen, it's pretty clear why Loco takes the win.
Felix: First off, Loco has the experience advantage over Maya as she's been around for much longer and fights more often.
Axel: Maya was faster and possessed a ranged advantage over Loco. We've only seen a few of the Darkness ÄRMs Loco uses, and it's a little unfair to assume that one of them would be a ranged weapon. However, Loco did have the means to stopping Maya in her tracks, that being the Negzero.
Felix: The common way to break out of it is with a Holy ÄRM, something Maya is not aware of or has. The only other way to break out of the Negzero's curse is by sheer willpower, something that Maya does not posses.
Axel: Maya was once possessed by Kurona and was forced to fight Houdai. Not only did she fail to do so, but she needed outside help to break out of it. Now being possessed and being paralyzed are two different things, but the best Maya could really do is use her own words as weapons.
Felix: And that only backfired. Loco was much smarter and was easily able to deduce that being in the way of flying words would be a bad idea.
Axel: And that leads us to the straw Voodoo Doll. There was nothing Maya had that could counter it. Sure, it's not an instant death, but she still didn't have enough durability to survive it.
Felix: Sure, Maya could tank blasts from her sister's rockets and her own dolls exploding on top of her, but her durability can sometimes be inconsistent, like when she fell off a tree and was considered to be injured and needed to be taken to the Nurse's Office.
Axel: While Maya did have her fair share of advantages over Loco, as soon as the Rook brought out the Negzero and straw Voodoo Doll, it was pretty all over for the demon hunter.
Felix: Maya just wasn't ÄRMed for this fight.
Axel: The winner is Loco.
