Riku: Halloween is that time of year where people enjoy trick-or-treating, throwing parties, or watching horror movies. More often than not, ghosts are associated with Halloween.
Jeremy: But because everyone assumes all ghosts are evil and want to haunt people, others have taken up the job of busting these ghosts. And this month, we have selected the three best candidates for that job.
Riku: The Ghostbusters, the men who aren’t afraid of no ghost.
Jeremy: Danny Phantom, the half human, half ghost teenager.
Riku: And Luigi, Mario’s ghost-catching younger brother. In this scenario, there will be no fight to the death between the combatants.
Jeremy: Instead, we’re looking at who’s specifically the superior ghostbuster. So this is kind of a...Undeath Battle.
Riku: Assuming that’s the word to use. Also, we’re using the original Ghostbusters. Which means no tools and equipment from the Extreme Ghostbusters and the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. I’m Riku and he’s Jeremy. And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who’d win, a......ghost catching Death Battle.
Ghostbusters:

Riku: The grand city of New York often tends to be the center of attention in terms of invasions and infestations. Whether it needed to be saved by a group of super heroes, a wall crawling high school kid, or a kid who can transform into a dragon.
Jeremy: But no one can forget the four men in jumpsuits and backpacks that saved the entire city from ghosts and a god person who became a marshmallow.
Riku: Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, And Egon Spengler were Parapsychologists who worked at Columbia University. But while Peter was more prone to trying to get with the woman and teenage girls at the university, Ray and Egon had studied they wanted to conduct.
Jeremy: Yeah, these two were really into studying ghosts. In fact, they pretty much used any school funding for their studies. Peter was kinda just...with them.
Riku: He seemed uninterested with the topic of ghosts, but he would defend Ray and Egon if he needed to.
Jeremy: One day, a poor old librarian was scared half to death at the New York Public Library. Ray, Egon, and Peter went to investigate and found the ghost of a librarian.
Riku: After a...’great’ plan, the three were chased off. After returning to the university, the three found out that they were fired. Without a place to stay, these three needed a new home and new jobs. Fortunately, Egon had an idea.
Jeremy: With the scans he got from the ghost librarian, and with enough money, Egon and Ray could create the tools necessary to catch a ghost. After selling Ray’s birth home, they bought themselves a fire house, a sweet police car they made modifications to, hired a security to take calls and work on paper stuff, and made all sorts of ghost catching equipment. And they even got a fourth member to their group named Winston Zeddemore.

-Name: Winston Zeddemore.
-Age: Approximately 39.
-Height: 6’
-Weight: N/A.
-Has the least experience than the others in ghost catching.
-Isn’t as interested in ghosts than Ray and Egon.
-Will believe in any supernatural thing as long as there’s a steady paycheck involved.
Jeremy: Of course, these four need to live up to their title.
Riku: Each Ghostbuster is equipped with the bare essentials to catch a ghost, and they follow a set of steps in order to catch a ghost. The first step is to wear one down. To do this, they use the Proton Pack.
Jeremy: The Proton Pack is made to counter the negative energy in ghosts with its Proton Stream. But that’s not all, the Proton Pack has multiple different settings to use that have different effects on ghosts. They can solidify ghosts and physical objects in stone, dissipate deadly black slim, and wear ghosts out with a gun.
Riku: It...it’s not a gun.
Jeremy: It totally is. It rapid fires and everything.
Riku: If only you knew the science behind it.
<da:embed id="m9We2XsVZfc" profile="youtube" width="560" height="315">
Proton Packs:
-Made by Ray and Egon.
-Can tell how much damage a Ghostbuster can sustain.
-Nuclear powered.
-Has a half-life of 5,000 years.
Proton Stream:
-A stream of positively charged ions which counter the negative energy of a ghost.
- Can also harness and wear a ghost down.
-Extremely dangerous and barely controllable.
-Can harm nearly any supernatural being, even vampires.
-Boson Darts: Extremely effective bursts of boson particles that can quickly disperse big chunks of a target’s PK energy.
- Over heats the Proton Pack extremely fast.
-Boson Darts can be fired along the Proton Stream.
-Can also be used to just blow shit up.
Dark Matter Generator:
-Collects invisible Dark Matter particles and projects them through the Neutrona Wand.
-Shock Blast: Expels a conical pattern of stripped Dark Matter particles that diffuse quickly in atmosphere.
- Deadly up close, but has power accuracy from afar.
-Very useful against inbound ghosts, vapor swarms, or near-proximity enemies.
-Stasis Stream: Emits a high capacity stream of order-reversing particles that hypobond and ectoplasmic matter causing crystallization.
- In other words, it can immobilize or ‘freeze’ ghosts and other paranormal entities.
- Has trouble ‘freezing’ lager entities, but it can slow them down.
Plasm Distribution System (Slime Blower Mk. II): A heavily modified modified version of the Slime Blower used against Vigo the Carpathian.
-Slime Blower: Uses a self regulating strain of ectoplasm to impair entities, neutralize Black Slime, and reveal invisible structures that reside on the ethereal plane.
- Extremely effective on Black Slime Ghosts, monsters, and portals.
-Slime Tether: Allows For discharge of plasmic slime strands between two points.
- Great for pulling heavy objects and pulling worn out ghosts into traps.
Composite Particle System:
-Designed by Egon to kill (or rekill) super natural beings that cannot be caught like ghosts.
-Meson Collider: Releases a hyper-collided, long-range system of particles that will vaporize any ectoplasmic material in its trajectory.
- Can act as a temporary targeting indicator for the Meson Collider’s secondary mode.
-Overload Pulse: A series of low damage, rapid-fire particles that automatically track to a marker set by the Meson Collider.
- Can still be fired without a target set, but shots are linear.
Jeremy: Man. These guys sure do have the tools, it seems.
Riku: Well, these are the tools the Ghostbusters use to wear a ghost down before catching them. And even then, ghosts aren’t always visible. But fortunately, they have the necessary tools to get around this.
Other tools:
-Muon Containment Trap (Ghost Trap): Traps That catch ghosts so they can be put into the Containment Unit.
- Needed to be opened manually before. But they appear to open up remotely now.
-The Psychokinetic Energy Meter (P.K.E. Meter): Can detect amounts of psychokinetic energy and direct its user to its location.
- In simpler terms, it allows the Ghostbusters to detect nearby ghosts and paranormal objects or phenomenons.
-Paragoggles (Ecto Goggles): Allows the wearer to see invisible ghosts and track P.K.E. valences.
- Is often used with the P.K.E. Meter.
Riku: That Ghostbusters Certainly have a lot of tools to work with in order to catch ghosts. But Egon would give all the Ghostbusters one advice they’d have to listen to; not to cross the streams.
Jeremy: Why?
Egon: "It would be bad."
Peter: "I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean 'bad'?"
Egon: "Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light."
Ray: "Total protonic reversal!"
Peter: "Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon."
Riku: Exactly. Despite this, however, the Ghostbusters have survived crossing the streams multiple times despite their slim chance of survival. But it’s not like crossing the streams is the main method of defeating ghosts. It’s more like...a trump card or last resort. So it’s not the answer all the time.
Jeremy: Even then, the Ghostbusters have achieved some great feats despite being only human. They’ve even beaten multiple gods.
Feats:
-Have caught countless of ghosts.
-Extremely lucky as their equipment is supposedly unstable nearly all the time.
-Have defeated the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man multiple times.
-Survived attacks from Gozer the Destroyer.
-Survived the ground crumbling beneath them and falling inside it.
-Once controlled the entire Statue of Liberty to take down a shield around the museum.
-Despite the dangers, Survived crossing the streams multiple times.
-Climb the stairs of a apartment tower all the way to the top with some fatigue.
-Fast enough to escape from a collapsing island.
-All have taken hits from power ghosts.
-Has defeated multiple gods.
Riku: The Ghostbusters are impressive indeed.
Jeremy: They’re like the Avengers!
Riku: No. Not exactly. They’re not...avenging the dead. More of just catching them. But despite their feats, all four Ghostbusters are still human and have human limits. And even though they have ghost catching equipment, some ghosts and entities have escaped from the traps and Containment Unit. Or create clones of themselves. If a ghost originates from a specific source, then that ghost cannot be caught completely unless said source is destroyed.
Weaknesses:
-All are still human.
-A large number of ghosts can overwhelm them.
-Have yet to develop clothing to protect them from Blake Slime.
-Have no equipment to prevent them from getting possessed by other ghosts.
- the Slime Blower can force a ghost out of its host, however.
-Regardless of their luck, crossing the streams is still extremely dangerous.
-Casper ghosts.
Jeremy: What else is there to say about these four? They’re iconic in all the right way. If there’s some strange in your neighborhood, you’d better call the Ghostbusters.
Peter: "Grab your stick!"
Ray, Egon, and Winstin: "HOLDIN'!"
Peter: "Heat 'em up!"
Ray, Egon, and Winstin: "SMOKIN'!"
Peter: "Make 'em hard!"
Ray, Egon, and Winstin: "READY!"
Peter: "Let's show this prehistoric bitch how we do things downtown...THROW IT!"
