Axel: Alright. The combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.
Felix: It's gonna be the last time I say this.....it's time...FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!!!
"Stay alert team." Keith said. "We're getting readings of a Robeast nearby." Lance groaned in annoyance. "Can't Zarkon let us rest for a bit? Is that too much to ask?" He said. "Well, we do have the most powerful thing in the universe....so...." Hunk said. "Well, I think that's about to be put to the test...again."
From above, a flying, spinning shell hovered above them before finding a point to land. The giant shell shot what looked like propulsion from the holes, and limbs started to retract from the shell. It was obviously a giant turtle, but what the Paladins didn't know was that it was Gamera, Guardian of the Universe.
"Umm....what do we do now? I mean, that's a giant turtle." Hunk asked. "What else can we do! Ready?" Keith asked his team. "Ready!" They responded. "Form Voltron!!" The five Lions fly up into the air, a streak of color is left behind as they do so.
"Activate interlock! Dynotherms connected! Infracells up! Mega thrusters are go! Form feet and legs! Form arms and body! And I'll form the head!" The Lions combine themselves on Keith's command, successfully forming Voltron.
Voltron lands on the ground, the giant mech combat ready. Gamera walks over to Voltron, having to look up as his foe is taller than him. "Let's go, Voltron Force!"
Voltron extends the Red Lion arm and thrusts forwards to punch Gamera across the face. Gamera staggered back, but retaliated by slashing at Voltron with its claws. Gamera tried to strike with both hands, but the Red and Green Lion mouths caught Gamera's hands.
Gamera opened its mouth and fired a large plasma ball, hitting Voltron in the face. The two Lions lost their grips on Gamera's arms, and the Guardian of the Universe fired yet another plasma ball at Voltron. Like before, it struck Voltron in the head, causing some damage.
Gamera fired once more, but Voltron flew itself upwards to avoid the attack. "Form Spinning Laser Blades!" Keith commanded. Voltron formed multiple laser blades from thin air and started throwing them towards Gamera.
The Kaiju attracts into his shell and started spinning. The weapons started bouncing off of Gamera's shell, and he started to lift off. "Oh. Right. It can fly. Perfect." Said Lance sarcastically. Gamera flew towards Voltron in an art to ram himself into it.
Voltron held out both its hands, managing to stop Gamera. "Now!" Keith said. Keeping its hands on the flying turtle shell, Voltron flipped itself over almost 360 degrees and kicked Gamera's shell down. Gamera hit the ground, creating a noticeable crater afterwards. Gamera's limbs popped from his shell and stood up.
The Guardian of the Universe starred up at the Defender of the Universe, looking very determined to win. "It's pretty tough." Said Hunk. Voltron flew down towards Gamera, the Red Lion arm stretched back and aimed for a punch. Gamera opened his mouth and spewed fire at Voltron, making the Lance and Pidge go on the defensive, moving Voltron's arms to guard itself.
Voltron landed just as Gamera had stopped. Smoke came off the mechanical knight, giving Gamera the sign to do it again. The Kaiju opened his mouth again and started spewing more fire at Voltron. "Quick! The Force Field!" Keith said. And electrical force field formed around Voltron, protecting it form the fire.
Afterwards, Voltron used the Electro-Force Cross attack. A cross-shaped laser attack struck Gamera, stunning it. The mouths of the Blue and Yellow Lions opened up and started firing missiles at Gamera, all of which successfully hit its target. However, Gamera was no longer stunned and fired another plasma ball at them. Voltron was too close for it to move out of the way, and the plasma struck it once again.
"Ok, that's getting annoying!" Hunk said. "I think it's time we finish this robeast for good." Suggested Lance. "Alright! Form Blazing Sword!" Keith commanded. The Red and Green Lion heads clashed with each other. Like other weapons, Voltron started forming light from thin air. As soon as the two Lion heads were far apart, the Blazing Sword had been formed. "Let's finish this!" Said Lance. Voltron flew forward towards Gamera, ready to wing the Blazing Sword and end the Kaiju.
Voltron swung its blade at Gamera, but the Kajiu managed to duck just in time. Gamera's back legs were retracted into his shell and he flew forward towards Voltron. The Guardian of the Universe rammed himself into the body of the Defender of the Universe, and started to lift Voltron upwards. "What's it doing!?" Hunk asked. "It's taking us to space! What does it look like!" Pidge answered.
Gamera did what Pidge thought he was doing. The Kaiju room the robot to space and let go of it. "Does it think we can't survive here? This is like our domain." Said Lance. "Don't get too cocky. It might be its domain as well." Said Keith. Voltron's thrusters activated, keeping the team from drifting off into space. Gamera started blasting at Voltron with its plasma fireballs,. However, Voltron flew right passed the attacks at blazing speeds, easily getting closer to Gamera.
The Green Lion head opened it jaw and started spewing fire at Gamera. However, much the Pidge's surprise, Gamera opened his mouth and started consuming the fire. "Is it literally eating fire!?" Princess Allura said in annoyance. "Crap!" Said Pidge as he immediately stopped the flaming attack. Gamera consumed the last of the fire, and put what he had consumed into a powerful attack.
Gamera fired another plasma fireball at Voltron, but this one was more powerful than before. The attack pushed Voltron back a great distance from Gamera, but the Guardian of the Universe didn't stop there as it flew towards Voltron. The Kaiju grabbed onto Voltron's back and started pushing it down to Earth.
"We need to do something!" Pidge said. "I have an idea!" Shouted Hunk. The Blue and Yellow Lions opened their jaws, and started firing their Sting Ray Missiles forward. Gamera flew by the missiles, still pushing Voltron, reaching the Earth's atmosphere in a matter of seconds. The missiles locked onto Gamera's shell and started thrusting towards him. The multiple Sting Ray Missiles exploded onto Gamera's shell, and the Kaiju almost felt it.
"What's that thing made out of!?" Said Allura. "We need to think of something else!" Said Pidge. "Too late! Brace for impact!" Commanded Keith. Pushing forward faster, Gamera flew Voltron all the way down to Earth and into the ocean. Gamera crashed Voltron on the ocean floor, causing it noticeable damage.
A nearby fishing boat had almost tipped over due to the waves. They're lucky they didn't. The captain and some worker made it over to the starboard side of the boat. The two witnessed the rise of Gamera, and then soon after, Voltron rose to its Lion heads. "See cap!" The worker said. "I told you that 'Pacific Rim' movie was real! Nobody ever believes me!"
"How's everyone?" Keith asked. "We're all good...you guys are good, right?" Asked Hunk, to which the other three Paladins responded with "Yes." in some annoyance. "Ok team. Let's go!" Keith said. Voltron's thrusters activated again, thrusting Voltron towards Gamera. Gamera backed, trying to give himself time avoid the attack, but Voltron was too fast and slashed with the Blazing Sword.
The best Gamera could do was hold its arm up in defense, but the Blazing Sword sliced through it cleanly. Gamera roared out in pain and backed up. "Take that!" Taunted Lance. "Let's wrap this up!" Keith said. Gamera fiercely looked at Voltron, green blood flowed from the Kajiu's arm and into the cold, salt water of the ocean. "Wait, hold on!" Pidge said. "It's about to do something!" Gamera started manipulating his Mana, and formed a blazing Plasma Fist.
"What the heck!?" Lance questioned. Voltron flew forwards at Gamera, ready to swing the Blazing Sword. However, Gamera in the moment remembered something before it fought Voltron. The other Lions had combined themselves, meaning there must be a way to force them out of that form. Voltron swung with its might, but Gamera did the unexpected. With its plasma fist, Gamera punched Voltron in a specific place. The collision forcefully knocked the Red Lion off of the body of Voltron.
Voltron has staggered back, giving Gamera the chance to strike once again. With the plasma fist, Gamera punched Voltron again, this time, making the Green Lion fall off its place and into the ocean. "Lance! Pidge! No!!" Kieth shouted.
Gamera's fists disappeared, so he started backing up. The Guardian of the Universe was starting to run low on Mana, and he didn't know what his foe could do now. Gamera held his only arm in the air, and red Mana energy started to gather around him. "What's it doing!?" Hunk asked. "Who cares! We need to move!" Allura said. "We can't! The thrusters won't respond!" Keith said.
Gamera's chest opened up after absorbing enough Mana. Gamera roared once more as it fired a humongous plasma beam at Voltron. The Defender of the Universe couldn't move out of the way, and the beam struck. The three remaining Lions could barely hold out. "What do we do!? Our Lion's are weaking! We can't take much more of this!!" Allura said.
Meanwhile, under the sea, the Red and Green Lions laid there helplessly. Pidge frantically tried to get his Lion to move, but the controls wouldn't respond. Lance and Pidge looked up upwards to see a beam of plasma struck Voltron. The two Paladins watched helplessly as the Blue and Yellow Lions were dragged back. "What are we supposed to do!? If we don't do anything, Voltron's don't for!" Lance said. "Well we can't! Both our Lions are down. We can't do anything!" Pidge slammed on his controls in frustration. Lance looked around, trying to think of a way to help. His face beamed with brilliance as he had gotten possibly the best idea he had ever gotten...ever.
Lance realized his Lion still had the Blazing Sword in its mouth, and that he could help finish this. "Alright!" Lance shouted. "Wait, what?" Wondered Pidge. The Green Lion Paladin looked as the Red Lion's head fired itself off like a rocket. "Lance! No!" Pidge warned. Lance didn't listen as he steered the Red Lion's head out of the water and into the beam of plasma. The force was intense against the Red Lion head, but Lance made it push forward all it could. The Lion head got closer to Gamera, and Lance steered it out of the beam, letting the head move full force towards the Kaiju. Gamera's eyes widened as the Lion head made it towards his own head. The Blazing Sword cleanly sliced through Gamera's neck, and the Guardian of the Universe's head fell off and into the ocean.
The plasma beam had ceased, revealing a nearly burnt up Voltron in sight. Gamera's body fell into the ocean, the Guardian of the Universe had fallen. The Defender of the Universe had remained.
Felix: YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHH!!!! THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!
Axel: In this duel of the Guardian of the Universe VS The Defender of the Universe, only one could come out as the winner, and the Voltron Force's victory was pretty clear.
Felix: One of the obvious points that Voltron had over Gamera was the variety of weaponry. Voltron had more weapons and was to keep a distance away from Gamera. The only long ranged thing Gamera had was his fire and plasma attacks.
Axel: Of course, both could get in close, and since both could fly and could travel between galaxies in a couple of days, making them several times faster than light. So in that sense, they seemed equal.
Felix: Very nearly. Going at the speed of light is something the separate Lions and Voltron itself can casually do. Meanwhile, Gamera actually has to make a rather large effort to do so.
Axel: Not only that, but Voltron was much stronger and durable. Voltron kicked a 39,000 ton monster 1,900 feet into the air, while Gamera hasn't gotten close to that level of strength. Voltron was also easily more durable, especially thanks to the Omega Comet feat.
Felix: Regardless if the Omega Comet feat existed, Voltron still had that casual planet durability. It, along with the separate Lions, could tank hits from Zarkon's fleet, and remember that just of a few of them can take out an entire planet in just a few shots.
Axel: Gamera may have held the intelligence advantage against most of the Paladins, but Pidge's intelligence not only match Gamera's, but also surpassed it.
Felix: Gamera's intelligence allowed him to spot Voltron's not so obvious design flaw, but it didn't really matter as he would most likely lose before he could even exploit it.
Axel: Which brings us to one of Gamera's main strategies; winning through retreating. This is a good idea on paper, but there's no evidence to suggest Voltron would let Gamera get away, especially in a Death Battle setting like this.
Felix: Plus, the Blazing Sword has killed robeasts similar to Gamera very easily. He wouldn't survive a run in with that sword. Voltron outclassed Gamera in multiple different ways. Voltron put Gamera through living shell, no matter how you slice it. Trust me, I'm not Lion.
Axel: ALL THOSE PUNS HAD ALREADY BEEN MADE!
Felix: I DON'T CARE!
Axel: *ahem* The winner is Voltron.
Gamera:

-Pidge was more intelligent than Gamera.

-Design flaw was exploited by Gamera.
Axel: Welp. Let's get going.
Felix: Finally, I forgot I had a life for a while.
Axel: Let's just hope the new guys don't discover...that fight.
Felix: *gasp* You mean that scrapped fight!?
Axel: Yup.
Felix: Why don't we just delete it?
Axel: Because, he will kill us if we do.
Felix: Damn if. I'll just leave the reveal for the Season 4 Premiere right here. Hope they don't find that other fight.
