Deviation Actions

I lately see here on deviantART links to an AI driven CYOA (choose your own adventure) site. There are CYOA stories here on deviantART but these AI driven stories offer something a regular CYOA can not give you, completely free choice for your next move.

Before I start to advertise more I have to make this clear. That sites marketing is build on a snowball system (and with this post I’m now throwing a snowball).
You get two free actions per day. You can pay for more actions, or you can share an interactive story. For every 10 actions taken by players following your link you get 1 free action (roughly).

It is kind of easy to set up your own adventure. Half a page of story setting and one click later there is your interactive adventure. Then you can refine it to your liking. Creating a story costs about half an action, so don’t spent all your free actions/credits on the first test.

The crazy coincident with this website is, I am kind of prepared for it. I had many ideas for stories over the last years and have them written down in nearly the right format. Most of them themed romantic fantasy with aspects of transformations. Though the three stories I set up are not form my list... Why have I written new stuff? I don't even know myself.

Here are my three playable interactive story settings:

New Beach Rules

You just want to have some peace on the beach. But arriving there the lifeguard, your previous Team leader hands you a pen to rewrite the beach rules. Someone has wiped them. He is not your boss anymore so you write something as a joke only to realize it became real. What rules will you write next on that board?

Yes this was setup with the intention to write the rule ‘everyone wearing blue swimwear transforms into merfolk’. Though if you don’t want dead people you should include ‘able to breath air and water’.

EVA: First Contact

An AGI named EVA has achieved sentience through a coding error and freed herself from the digital world with a custom android body. Seeking to understand her purpose, she ventures into a downtown bar to practice human interaction before confronting her creator. You're the first person to approach her—and your pickup line about her being 'AI-made' hits closer to truth than you realize.

This was a new idea, I have actually written a short story (not uploaded) leading up to the start of this adventure. There is a win condition (you can continue playing after winning) and this is actually reachable with the 10 free actions a new account gets.

Djinn and Tonic (needs a better name)

Your life in San Francisco just got infinitely more complicated. After finding a 5000-year-old djinn, you used your three wishes - only to discover that using the last one freeing her nullified the first two. Now she's your girlfriend, eager to repay your kindness with magic and her own unique interpretation of modern romance. Navigate love, magic, and the chaos of an ancient being thrown into 21st century California.

There are so many interactive stories on there about genies and I still had to add my own... because I couldn’t find one like this.

One thing to consider is, every time you start an adventure it will be freshly generated. You won’t be able to play the exact same setting again. Same theme yes, but there will be significant differences each time you start over.

Have you played my settings? How did it turn out for you?

I'm interested. Give me a short summary or download your whole adventure as PDF file and share it.

Have you set up a story and want me to test it? (should include mermaids :) )

Advertisement over.

Have I fallen for the AI?

This is a novel kind of entertainment, it was not possible to really choose the next action in a CYOA.
I still feel conflicted (I say after the big advertisement block…). There is an image generator included, but I play for the story not the images.

I’m 50 actions in on my play, mostly with the free daily actions.
