I lately see here on deviantART links to an AI driven CYOA (choose your own adventure) site. There are CYOA stories here on deviantART but these AI driven stories offer something a regular CYOA can not give you, completely free choice for your next move. Before I start to advertise more I have to make this clear. That sites marketing is build on a snowball system (and with this post I’m now throwing a snowball). You get two free actions per day. You can pay for more actions, or you can share an interactive story. For every 10 actions taken by players following your link you get 1 free action (roughly). It is kind of easy to set up your own adventure. Half a page of story setting and one click later there is your interactive adventure. Then you can refine it to your liking. Creating a story costs about half an action, so don’t spent all your free actions/credits on the first test. The crazy coincident with this website is, I am kind of prepared for it. I had many ideas for stories

You may have noticed that in my gallery are only four photo manipulations of gargoyles. The reason is simple, it is even harder to find matching photos. It is actually so hard that those gargoyles in my gallery did not contain any source images of wings. I made them more like a digital drawing and I only used photos of skin or fur as a texture. As an experiment I tried to do the same thing I did with the lamia. But with a gargoyle this time. Let’s just say generative AI is still a bit behind. [DEVIATION] After two attempts I tried it with a new source image. [DEVIATION] To be fair some parts of the previous prompt about the shadow of the hand got mixed in. Even if I ignore that mistake with the shadow, the result is far away form what I was imagining. So, there is still a place for human made photo manipulation. (For now... )

It's really difficult to create a lamia in Photoshop. This is mainly because it's hard to find images that fit together. It's much easier for a mermaid. I've been using the same image of a fish for my mermaids' tails for years. I can bend and distort it in Photoshop to fit the model. Then I add the lighting. Achieving the same for a lamia is almost impossible, or it would severely restrict the snake's posture. A snake's body can twist in so many more directions. The number of degrees of freedom is too high to apply the same routine as with a mermaid. I painted something, very roughly; it only took a few minutes. [DEVIATION] Then I asked ChatGPT to create a photorealistic image from it. [DEVIATION] This was literally the first attempt. The first attempt at generating this image. And indeed, my first attempt at generating anything at all from scratch. (From scratch? I gave it a rough template...) At least I had artistic input on pretty much every aspect of the image. I didn't just

Welcome, thanks for watching

I've appreciated the way you do mermaids for the longest time. The way you blend the tail & human parts is so good.
