Twenty Running Years

I know I'm pretty late but I didn't want to just draw a quick sketch. Besides, a cool hedgehog like Sonic deserves something special.

Deep down I'm still a Sonic fan, he isn't just as involved in my life as he was before. For about... 4-5 years ago, my friend ~DaChibiMonster made me go obsessed with the whole Sonic fandom... We drew them together, made stupid comics, listened to Crush 40 and played the games. I'm so glad that I could share my crazy moments with her <3

Anyways, I think I somehow moved on so that's why I haven't been drawing them for a long while, but when I realized that his 20th birthday was coming up I couldn't stop myself. And when I began with this, it seems like I had forgotten how freaking fun it was to draw him <3

So... about this drawing...
I wanted to go to the very first memory I had of Sonic.
I remember around 2003 when my childhood friend Julien used to sit in the computer room (Vector: FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM! XD) with me after school and play Cartoon Network games. We also played Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles together and I fell in love with the "blue thing". I loved the colourful stages, the music and I couldn't stop playing him. I also became very good at controlling him so was badass at beating all the bosses x3

The first stage of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was Angel Island Zone so I took it for the background, just for the memories and the nostalgia. But I also wanted to combine the classic with the modern style so I drew Sonic differently, just to see how much he had changed over the years.
Yes, this is very typical, especially the running... but I'm not good with poses...
And the background isn't the best... the brown rocks reminds me of chocolate ice cream but I don't care.
I love it as a whole <3
