I've never understood the hate towards pepakura. It's a very helpful software in terms of templating and showing off instructions. You spoke on the inaccessibility, but the PDO viewer is free and the premium version is free and just a one-time purchase unlike softwares like photoshop or illustrator which are monthly subscription's.
