Ragnarok Online II Opinion...

Journal Entry: Sat May 11, 2013, 3:31 PM
Life's been.. a little hectic, despite being out of class. Spring cleaning hit hard, so I've been running around trying to clean the house as quickly as I can. So that's one thing that's taken up a lot of my time... Also been recording for Youtube a LOT! New Let's Play will most likely launch tomorrow! Super excite for that!

Gaming STUFF
(Take my word with a grain of salt.. I haven't gotten *too* far into the game, but this is just my first impression of it as I played.)
So! I said I'd post up my thoughts for Ragnarok Online 2... Honestly, I like the game. It's not bad, and the world is REALLY dang nostalgic. (Porings everywhere!) The visuals are pleasant to look at, and everything just kind of has that really cutesy feeling that a lot of Korean MMOs tend to have... But that's just the thing. It's one of those Korean MMOs.

You might or might not know this, but I used to MMORPG-hop a LOT back in the day. Chances are, if you name one I've either already played it or have heard a lot of it at the very least.. A good chunk of those MMOs were standard Korean-MMO fare with standard quests and World of Warcraft-esque gameplay. RO2 just.. kind of fits right into that category. It's one of those games that is pleasant to play, but I can DEFINITELY feel that it was kind of slapped together with an engine that has already been done to death. Don't get me wrong, I find it incredibly pleasant to play and mess around with, but I've just seen so many MMOs like it that I have a hard time really taking it seriously. It lacks its own identity and borrows SO MUCH from other games, be it the world of RO1, the graphics of every other Korean MMO out there, or the gameplay of WoW.. It's just hard to take it at face value and play it for RO2 *itself*

RO1 had its own identity. It had 2D sprites on a 3D Isometric plane, interesting characters and unique skills that I haven't really seen in many other MMOs. Every class in that game could go for MULTIPLE branches, depending on what path you wanted to take. (For instance, Priests COULD go for PVP-Melee if they wanted.. Knights could be tanky or damage based.. Monks/Champions could throw balls at your face, melee combo you to death, or build themselves to be a 1-shot BUS TO THE FACE with Asura Strike).. It felt a lot more customizable in that way, and the skills felt like they required you to move around and actually *do* something with your movement while fighting.

I can't say it'll stay like this because RO2 is obviously a LOT newer, but it just seems to try to copy it, in a way that's less interactive. I feel myself just standing in place and spamming skills as quickly as I can, rather than being strategic about where I'm positioned, what skills I use in what order, etc.

Again, don't get me wrong. I DO like Ragnarok Online 2, but it's not a game that I think I'll be sticking with forever. As a game itself, I've played much better.. But the nostalgia factor alone is enough to keep me going back, just so I can see all those old RO1 monsters with 3D models.

(On another note-- BeastMaster in RO2 is totally just a rip of Druid in World of Warcraft.)

Edit: I should add, that I do have high hopes for the game! My complaint that it feels same-y with all the skills could very, VERY well be fixed in future patches, installments, etc. It's DEFINITELY worth a shot, so if you have time try it out! You got nothing to lose, and it's very enjoyable all-around!

I've... been having an exceedingly hard time with LP #12's icon's background. So much that I'm deciding to just launch the LP before releasing the Let's Draw. So that... kind of sucks. The icon itself should be fine since I only need the chibi's face for that, which IS done.. Just that background, gah.

I haven't really had time to put together art tips, either, so I guess I'll just do those on weeks that I actually have time. Oh well.. Hopefully I can get artistically moving again soon!

Journal Entry: Sat May 4, 2013, 5:01 PM
So I skipped a week of making journals! THE PROCRASTINATION STARTS! Okay well I kind of have a good excuse for it, though... Had finals this week, so I spent my entire weekend studying for those. I did really well in them, thankfully, so all that studying paid off! Sorry for being gone! Other than that, my birthday was about a week and a half ago.. I had a great time! So that kept me a little busy as well..

Gaming STUFF
I haven't gotten to play many single-player games lately, but FREAKING RAGNAROK ONLINE 2 JUST CAME OUT. Dude, Ragnarok Online was my childhood. That was the very first MMORPG that I got into, so it was a MASSIVE nostalgia trip. Seriously, it's such a blast to the past that I can't help but grin like an idiot while playing. I had NO IDEA that they were even making RO2. I mean, I heard about it years and years ago, but I chalked it up to either a failed attempt or just a hoax. It looks a ton different from what it was back then. And I only found out about it through a random Retweet on Twitter! So it was a complete surprise! Funny thing is, only five days before that I got a Poring Plushie for my birthday.. Talk about perfect timing!

I've only just gotten started on it, so I can't really say much in terms of what it's like.. but I REALLY like it so far. It's so similar to World of Warcraft, though. xD I'll probably write more on it next Saturday, since by then I'll be a good chunk into the game. Goodbye, life!

Not much to say here, but now that finals are over, I'm FINALly(dohoho) free to work on graphics.. I'm rushing to get my graphical work done for LP #12, so hopefully I can launch that by next Saturday.

Mystery Dungeon AMAZING... Plus Texturing!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 20, 2013, 5:53 PM
Well! It's been a little bit quiet lately... My mother came back home from California (And I kind of got Luigi's Mansion 2 back.. Except not really because she still plays it like crazy, haha), so I'm pretty pleased about that.. I also got back in touch with a really old friend of mine that I haven't had a proper conversation with in years, which was really nice.. And I did really well at a presentation for my Psychology class! So overall, everything's fine and dandy.

Gaming STUFF
You guys know how I started playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the sky? Well! I finished it in the past week! And I LOVE THIS GAME. Seriously, I remember why I liked this spinoff series better than the main game now! It's so charming, the music is spot-on, and the story just draws you completely in. It's definitely my favorite Pokemon game, hands down, no contest.. I'm excited to play the new Mystery Dungeon game, but for now I'm going to continue with Explorers of the Sky's aftergame! This will probably still last me quite awhile! Hahaha.

Other than that, I've been playing the Boss Rush mode of Kirby's Dream Land 3... a lot. Seriously guys, I'm trying so hard to record that so I have a new video to upload, but it's SO DANG HARD. It doesn't help that I'm pretty bad at the game (as some of you know), so it's been crazy trying to actually play through all of the bosses in a row! One of these attempts, I'll definitely get it down.. But for now I'll just keep raging and wanting it to be over with, hahaha.

I'm finally able to focus on my own projects.. Namely Let's Play #12's icon! I've gotten a bunch done on it, after struggling for a few days on getting a concept down.. I was seriously getting frustrated over it because I had no idea what I wanted to do, but funnily enough, a song from Explorers of the Sky pulled me out of that rut! Hooray for inspiration! Hahaha! Currently, the lineart is pretty much done.. Well, almost done. I just need to add some depth to it, then I can get into coloring! Crossing my fingers that you guys will like this one and that it doesn't disappoint!

Art Tip of the Week!
The tips here are just how I personally work in Photoshop. The things I say here are by no means the "right" way draw, it's just how I've learned and things I've picked up on through the years. So be sure to experiment on your own, and take everything with a grain of salt! I'm still learning as well!

So this isn't so much an "art tip" as it is sharing brushes... I had some people ask what brushes I commonly use for texturing, and quite frankly, there's one person in particular that I can point to for that...

This guy has so many awesome brushes that I use in almost every picture. He has brushes for dust, fabric, clouds, foliage, stone, and so, so much more that's absolutely fantastic.. And he updates pretty frequently as well. He's kind enough to offer all of this for private or commercial use, and doesn't ask for anything in return. That's kind of rare to find on DeviantART. Normally you find a brush or a texture that's just a few lines or just a picture of a texture, and they're just like "CREDIT ME IN ALL WORKS THIS IS USED ON".. While I understand that it's great to get credit for the things you upload, it's just for someone like me who uses a variety of brushes in my work over the course of months, if not years, it becomes impossible to keep track of who to credit in what drawing I've done.. So I just tend to avoid using brushes or textures that people ask for credit on. Nathie probably has some of the most professional looking brushes that doesn't require you to credit in everything you use it in.

Enjoy, guys! Hope this helps you!

Studies and gaming!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 13, 2013, 1:41 PM
This week has just been a whoooole lot of school.. It's been having really bad timing, too. I've had a bunch of other work to do, so I've had to juggle a lot of it. This week has probably been the most sleep-deprived I've been in a looong time, seriously. I usually make it a point to get a decent amount of sleep, but I was getting like.. two hours. Haha. Kind of foreign to me, but cramming for tests comes first!

Gaming STUFF
Well! I finished Monster Tale.. Honestly towards the end it was just a little bit disappointing story-wise, like they could have done so much more with it. Buuuut I0 wasn't really playing for the story in the first place, so I wasn't too bummed about it. It's still a fun game and I still really, really like it, it's just that it has a glaring weak spot when it comes to plot. I'd still play it again, though, just for the sake of finding all the powerups and evolutions.

Other than that.. Played a little more of Super Mario RPG. I'M LOVING THAT GAME. Honestly, it's something that I'd definitely consider LPing someday! It's just so funny and has a ton of little easter eggs that I've gotten a kick out of. I'm sad I didn't play it earlier in life, I seriously missed out!

Aaaand some of you probably know that I really wanted to play the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, right? Well! I got my hands on Explorers of the Sky to play first! I didn't really want to jump into the new one right away before I refreshed my memory on the previous games. I played Blue Team a long time ago, but I barely remember anything about it... Decided to just pick up on the second one instead since I'm pretty sure that it's basically the same game, just improved.

I've probably been more hooked on Explorers of the Sky than any other game I've played recently. I don't know why, but the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series always charmed me. It's probably my favorite Pokemon game (don't hurt me) at this point. It's just less stressful and more.. I dunno, personal than a lot of the other Pokemon games? I just have an easier time getting into the story and the characters of the Mystery Dungeon series than the main game. Don't get me wrong, I still love the classic Pokemon games, particularly White/Black, but I don't get quite as engrossed in those as I do this one. I'm really looking forward to playing the new one when I finish Explorers of the Sky! This will probably last me awhile, though.

For those wondering, I'm playing as a Charmander with a Piplup sidekick! I honestly got Chimchar the first time around with the personality test.. but I honestly don't really like Chimchar and I didn't want to spend the rest of the game as one. So I just took it again for a different result. Kind of cheating I know, but I'm happier playing as a fire-lizard rather than a fire-monkey!

Finished a BUNCH of graphical work in the past week.. It's been a little tough. Pretty soon I'll be working on the graphics for my next LP project as well. You know, icon, chibi, navigation system, etc... I'm excited for that, but at the same time it's so much work that I'm a little hesitant to start. Hahaha. Oh well, you guys will have to wait and see! As for the journal, I still haven't gotten to that yet. Thinking I'll do that after I finish both of the chibis so I can move along with that project first... Then making the journal look nice will come after that.

Art Tip of the Week!
The tips here are just how I personally work in Photoshop. The things I say here are by no means the "right" way draw, it's just how I've learned and things I've picked up on through the years. So be sure to experiment on your own, and take everything with a grain of salt! I'm still learning as well!

I've gotten asked a few times as to what brushes I use in Photoshop... So I figured that I'd go ahead and give a (VERY) quick run-down of what I use! When sketching and doing basic coloring, I typically stick with the basic brushes that Photoshop already has. When it comes to texturing and backgrounds I go into some customs, but that's for another journal! I'm talking basic lines and color-blocking this time!

When you open up the brush-select options, you'll be greeted with this.. I typically use the three highlighted brushes for my work.

I typically use them in this order..
1: Hard Round Pressure Size: The harder you press, the thicker/bigger the line is.. I use this for sketching, line art, blocking in colors, and detail work.. I typically work with the flow set to about 60% when I'm doing linework or sketching, it just feels smoother.

2: Hard Round Pressure Opacity: The harder you press, the more "solid" a line is... Rather, the more opaque it will be. I usually use this right after I finish blocking on all my colors. I use this to plan out the shading, block out where I want shadows/highlights to be, and I also use it for some texturing. I usually use this with the flow set to around 40% - 70% depending on what I'm doing.

3: Soft Round Pressure Opacity: Just like 2-- the harder you press, the more opaque the line will be. I use this to soften lines and and shading, making things look airy, or playing with filters. So like, I'll block shadows in with brush 2, but I'll make it softer where I want it with brush 3. I also use this for texturing, but not quite as much as 2. The flow and opacity settings vary greatly for this brush, it just depends on what I'm doing. It usually sits around 50% when I'm doing general shading, but it does sometimes go as low as 10%.

None of this is set in stone, of course, but this is the general pattern that I follow when I draw things. Hope this helps!

Art tips addition, maybe?

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 6, 2013, 12:37 PM
So hey guys.. I kind of had this thought about something I could do with this journal.. How would you guys feel if I tacked on an "Art Tip of the Week" to the Art STUFF section? It wouldn't be anything serious or in-depth.. Just things like what brushes I like, various little techniques that I have, textures I use often, how to use various Photoshop tools, etc.. I don't mean like "How-to-draw so-and-so" tutorials, just simple things that would take at most two screenshots to explain.

I kind of figured it might add some worth to the journals, you know.. Have something to go back for and hopefully help some fellow artists out! You guys could give me tips as well if you see a more efficient way I could be doing things. It's mainly to start conversation and have something else that everyone can talk about if you'd like!

Let me know if this is something you'd actually want to see... I'll tack on an example in the Art STUFF section.

So April Fool's was amazing. I had to take a makeup test that day because PAX East kept me from taking it on the proper day, so I went to the teacher's office for it... And, well, I've already broadcasted this on Facebook and Twitter.. So I'll just provide a link to the Facebook post so it doesn't take up so much room!…

So yeah, that's pretty much how it went. It was freaking amazing. Hahaha.. My actual score on that test was really high, so I'm sure they were relieved with that.

On another note, I went to the movies and saw The Croods! THAT MOVIE.. THAT MOVIE IS FANTASTIC. I loved it so much, it was so cute and the animation was beautiful. I really wasn't expecting much when I heard about the concept, but after watching it.. I was very, very pleasantly surprised. So yeah.. Double Masae-thumbs-ups! (that sounds awkward...)

Gaming STUFF.
I haven't gotten the chance to really play too many games over the past week.. Which is very unfortunate. I think I'm at the TALE(heeheehurhurhaaksdjhderpderp) end of Monster Tale, but I've been working so hard at college and art that finding the time/motivation to pick it up and play it just kind of isn't there right now. I would be playing Luigi's Mansion 2, but my mom took that on her trip to California, soooo.. That's out of the question. Hahaha.

However, I DID manage to try one game that's long overdue... Super Mario RPG! Played it for the first time ever last night! I really, really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The humor in that game is spot-on, I was laughing at quite a few points. Hoping to play more through the next week, but studying kind of comes first...

So you guys might have noticed that I finally uploaded yesterday.. Namely, the Ho-oh drawing. I swear, I cried tears of happiness when I finally finished that. That seriously became my LIFE for like three days. I crammed that so hard it's not even funny. But now that I'm done with that, I can finally start moving on to other projects that I've been wanting to tackle for a long time.

For one.. Getting this journal all straightened out. I really want to make this journal pretty. I have a good idea of what I want to do now, just the hard part is figuring out how I want to do it. An idea is the first step, though, so it shouldn't be TOO long before I actually get something going for this.

I also need to start working on graphics for... Things. :D Cough Youtube Cough.

Art Tip of The Week!
The tips here are just how I personally work. The things I say here are by no means the "right" way draw, it's just how I've learned and things I've picked up on through the years. So be sure to experiment on your own, and take everything with a grain of salt! I'm still learning as well!

When working on an art piece or a graphic or anything of the sort, try to work with your image size being 200% or 300% of want! If you do that, the small imperfections and shaky lines in your Lineart/coloring will correct themselves to an extent when you shrink it back down when you're done!

I typically open a new canvas at 1920x1080 (or 2000x2000, or whatever I want it to end up as) at the very least, then go into Image > Image Size and blow it up to 300%. For the remainder of the drawing, I'll work in 5760x3240. (Or 6000x6000, or whatever it gets blown up to.)

It might sound intimidating if you haven't worked in that size before, but really if you keep the zoom to 25% - 33%, it'll be just like working on a smaller canvas. I usually do that for sketches so that I can see the full picture, then go in for details once I get into the lineart/coloring.

Two journals in a week? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?

Journal Entry: Sat Mar 30, 2013, 1:15 PM
SO TODAY IS SATURDAY. I have decided that Saturday shall be Journal-day and it will cover things I've done, games I've played, things that happened through the week! Will I stick with it? Who knows? =P Maybe it'll end up being every couple of weeks or something like that... We shall see. But I'm already doing better than before! I mean, two journals in a week.. Normally I do two journals a year. I mean.. Two in 2012, one in 2011, two in 2010, three in 2009.. Yeeeah anything's better than that, right?

Thinking about how I'll organize this because I don't just want it to be a whole big block of text that has no rhyme or reason. Considering doing different sections like "Deviantart STUFF." then "Gaming STUFF." then "Life STUFF." So each thing will be its own "Stuff"! Might omit a "stuff" or two if there's nothing really relevant going on in it... Yeah, my creativity is out to lunch today.

... I'm really bad at this journal-keeping thing, aren't I? This is why I don't do vlogs.

So art section, go! Working on one picture.. It's kind of almost done. It's been a little frustrating because I tried to take on a semi-new style with it, but we'll see how that goes. On another note, JOURNALS. Trying to figure out how to lay out a new skin, because this one is old. I'll probably work on that in my spare time when I can, but first I need an idea. I think I might have one, but it would take.. a lot of work.

Gaming STUFF.
So I got Luigi's Mansion 2 earlier this week! But I only got to play like three stages because my mother stole it. Yeeeah she's a little addicted. I don't really mind too much because Luigi's Mansion was honestly never my kind of game. I played a couple hours of the first one when I was a kid, but I dunno.. I just got bored with it. I WANTED to like it because it was a freaking Luigi game, but it's just not my thing. I tend to not care for the whole Halloween-y atmosphere in general, like ghosts and haunted mansions and stuff like that. Not saying it's a bad game at all, it's just not something that I personally get excited for. I guess it might have scared me a little when I was young as well, so that didn't help matters much. Hahaha. But seriously, even though I've only gotten to play a couple of stages of Luigi's Mansion, I seriously do think that it's a fantastic game so far, and I'm looking forward to playing it... I guess I just have to wait my turn!

But as for something I've ACTUALLY been playing lately... There's this totally random DS game that I found in Best Buy that I haven't been able to put down.. Monster Tale. Seriously, I saw it TOTALLY at random, knew nothing about it, but just that boxart and concept made me want to play it. I was expecting it to be really mediocre and just a time killer, but I can't really explain it.. I really, REALLY like this game. It's basically a 2D-sidescroller beat-'em-up with a freaking monsterpet. You play as a little kid who goes into a new world and finds a monster egg that hatches... And she decides to take it back to its mother. Then bad guys show up and you have to train your monster to make it stronger so it can evolve. It's actually REALLY cool, and it's kind of like a mix between Pokemon and Super Metroid/Megaman. The gameplay is where it's at in this game, and seeing what your monster evolves into is a lot of fun. It also kind of depends on what you feed it/how you play with it. For a game I've never heard of before, I was EXTREMELY impressed by it.

I only have two main issues with Monster Tale...
One, if you die, you go back to your last save. Period. So if you couldn't find a save point for awhile and you're low on health.. You'd better hope that you stumble across one so that you can heal/not lose a bunch of progress. First time I realized that I raged quite a bit, because the boss fights are actually a little challenging...

Two, is that there's a LOT of backtracking, and it's easy to get lost in so many screens. It's like, you go forward a little bit, you find a door you can't go through... You go another way and get really far, then get a powerup to unlock it. Time to backtrack! The question is, do you even remember where that door was in the first place? Yeah, it's a little like that.

Even with those quirks, I still find it REALLY enjoyable and a fun time. I've heard Super Metroid had a lot of backtracking in it anyway, so I wouldn't doubt that they took inspiration from that or something.

As for life stuff... Got a test in Computer Science and Psychology coming up at practically the same time.. Also group presentations. :< Not quite so fun.

And there you guys have it. My first serious attempt at a journal in like... five years. Hope it didn't disappoint!

Make moar journals? Maybe? We'll see.

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 28, 2013, 5:08 PM
So it's been six months since my last journal! I'm getting better!... Kind of.. Sort of..

... Not really, huh.

Well, I've been kind of considering using Journals a little more! I'm not really sure if I'll end up doing it, but I feel like it might be a good way to start some conversations.. Have some stories to look back on, you know? I dunno, I guess I feel like I'd just be spamming you guys with crap you don't really care to see, hahaha. I'd like to update the look of this journal, too, I just don't really have enough time to work on it. Besides that, I haven't messed with coding in quiiiite a few years!

I guess we'll see!

On another note...

PAX EAST WAS AMAZING. The panels, the games, the people.. Just <3

Journal Entry: Wed Sep 26, 2012, 6:10 AM
SO!.. It's been about six months since my last journal entry, which talked about... Christmas. Yeeeah, figured it's about time I make a new one! But I don't have much to talk about!

... I have 5,566 DA notifications right now...

I should do something about this.

So I only just now noticed that I STILL had my Merry Christmas journal up... So this post is basically made so I won't be saying "MERRY CHRISTMAS" in like... summer.

.... derp. :D

On another note, hoping to upload a lot more of my art sometime soon! I haven't really been able to lately, so that's kind of disappointing. We'll see!

Wooooow, it's been over a year since I've actually updated this journal. Why not start now? Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Hoping to upload art more often, been too busy to really sit and draw anything as of late. Oh well.

Sorry to those who have sent me notes and haven't heard back-- Whenever I sit down to get around to replying to some of these, I always run into something else to do. I'll try to get to them soon, really!

Well! I've just been incredibly busy lately. What a weird feeling. :| I miss being a no-lifer. Hahaha. College has been keeping me on my toes, but it's all good. :3 I'm kinda enjoying it.. Ish. I just don't like early mornings.

But enough with the boring stuff! I'm finding myself drawing a LOT more fanart than I normally do. Seriously, I rarely draw fanart, but with all these requests I've been getting (and falling behind on.. Sorry!) it's all I ever draw now. Haven't had time to draw a personal piece in awhile. It's good practice, though.. It's kind of odd, I finished so many pictures but I haven't uploaded any of them because I just forget to. :( Now I need to go back and find them all. Haha.

I'm glad, though. :) I haven't been so involved in the artist world since.. Well.. Ever. I guess I have Youtube and a certain RP thread to thank for that. ;P

Speaking of RP... I still need to finish that collab.. *shot* ;_; IT'S ALMOST DONE, I SWEAR.

Aaand speaking of Youtube, I noticed a bunch of you who watch my videos came over to DeviantArt. :) Thanks for the support, guys. I'm glad you all like my art enough to watch me here.

Well! I haven't added a journal entry in AGES. Lots of stuff has changed, yupyup.

I started college.. It's pretty cool, but school is school. I'd rather have my free time back, of course. :< Buuut, can't be picky.

I've been drawing a LOT more lately. I'm really happy about that. I guess I just needed to find the right style to get me back into drawing all the time. Granted I can't find the time to draw *as* often with classes going, it's still more than before.

I'm starting to sell prints of my better works, too! I'm not really expecting to sell an incredible amount, but hey. Best to offer the prints just in case someone really does want it. :D

After being on DeviantART for three years (including my old abandoned account), I finally decided to get a subscription! I'm absolutely thrilled! My mom's friend gave me a 50 buck gift card, and I couldn't think of anything better to spend it on. :D It's working out great. I'm really pleased.

This journal layout is temporary-- I'm still learning how this CSS crap works. MAN I miss HTML, I could pick that up quick. D: Oh well. At least it's not plain anymore.

Annnd... I ran out of stuff to talk about. I'm not really good at journal-keeping. Out of practice, ehehe.

A quick update on my life.. I GRADUATED. WOO. No more high school for me! :D

Another note, I started doing Let's Plays and Let's Draws on Youtube. if you have no idea what I'm talking about, might as well go take a look-see, right? ;)

I'll probably be putting all my Let's Draw finished pieces on DA, and including the link to the video in the description, so you guys can see how I drew it. :D

I'll try to upload more stuff in general. I really need to get back into the drawing groove.… <- Here's the link to my Youtube

So I've been having this awesome creativity streak! I just draw and draw and draw and don't stop. :D I'm actually almost done with another picture, color and everything!

I've been really experimenting a lot with my style lately, mainly inking and coloring. I think it's a really big improvement. :) You guys will see on my next picture that I'll be uploading.

I'm still stuck on Savage2. Game be awesome, yo. This has got to be the longest I've stuck with a game since Ragnarok Online. XD

So yep, in general just being a total no-lifer.

So I haven't updated in forever. Again. I ROCK, seriously. Well I have a few fully-finished pictures on the way. Who knows when those will actually be done. Maybe another four months or so. :p (Hopefully not, but y'know.)

In other news! I've been totally looking forward to this new MMORPG -- Darkfall. It's supposedly going to be a whole new kind of MMO, based on pure skill with no stats or anything like that. The whole world is supposed to be like a 'sandbox,' allowing you to cut down trees, build your own cities, steal from people, sail the oceans, etc. It's like the game is trying to give you as much freedom as possible, while keeping it realistic.

Unfortunately, it's in beta. And I haven't been accepted into it yet. #$%*^

I guess I just have to wait for it. :(

As for what I'm into now to keep me occupied -- Savage2. It's an awesome MMO that's a mix between Real Time Strategy, Action, and First Person Shooter. In a game one person can take the commander role, and tell everyone where to go, build stuff, etc. Everyone else follows their directions (or not if they prefer), and fights in an army on the field. It's pretty much skill based, and I HAVE BEEN OWNING UP. -egoego-

And there's my no-lifer update of geekiness. Enjoy. :D

This past Saturday I went to Anime Weekend Atlanta 14. I had a HELL of a lot of fun. It was crazy, suffocating, torturous, satisfying, yet at the same time completely worth it and something I love to do again and again.

For the past few weeks I worked nonstop on a costume. I had to make a head, figure out how to put fabric on the head, how to make ears, how to make a fluffy tail, how to stick a face on a head. Yeah, I went as a mascot. I dressed up as Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo! And let me tell you, it was HELL in there. The heat was almost unbearable, and it eventually became so humid in the helmet that I couldn't wear my glasses anymore, rendering me almost blind. On my arms, legs, and chest I pretty much had a suit of fluff to give me the chubbiness and softness of a stuffed animal, which didn't help in the heat factor.

It was so difficult, walking around while roasting. I was trying to keep up with who wanted pictures, who wanted a hug, from every single angle imaginable. I had to watch for taps on my shoulder, which sometimes was just my ear bumping against me. I had to listen constantly for "RYO-OHKI" or "OMG" or "AWW" or "BUNNY" or "CANIHAVEAHUG/PICTURE?", which is kind of hard when I'm struggling to breathe and both of my ears are blocked by two inches of solid foam. Along with this, I had to struggle with trying to see out of two small eye holes that nearly completely blocked out my entire middle vision. I had to tilt my head to the side a lot to make sure I wouldn't run into anything, or anyone.

Despite all of this, it was so completely worth it. The costume received such a positive reaction, and it really made me happy that everyone enjoyed it so much. It really makes it feel like all that hard work paid off.

Picture -…

On other news about the convention... L GROPED ME. YES, HE GROPED A BUNNY. How disturbing is that?

And some really really tall guy picked me up. Literally. I was like THREE FREAKING FEET off of the ground. It was funny because he looked like one of those "I'M A GANGSTA" type of people, but he picked me up STRAIGHT off of the ground, and started thrashing back and forth with me in a bone-crushing hug. And during this, he was squealing like a little girl and going "OMGYOUARESOCUTEILOVEYOUOMGBUNNYISADORABLEOMGOMG" and various other ramblings. This happened twice. D: But it was funny at the same time xD

I am officially going to start dumping all of my sketches in here. I really don't care anymore, I'm gonna only finish a picture like once every.. Eight months? So there's really no point in that. Expect a lot of new updates, and quite often -- Just, most of it will be sketches.

Hey, at least it means more art to look at, right? :D

Anyway, I watched an inspirational movie recently. August Rush. Seriously, that movie just made me go "Wow," and I don't do that often with movies.
