This is incredible, I love the attention to detail and the amount of character in Koshey's expression is fantastic, well done, very well done. I have to ask though, have you ever or do you have any plans to do any of the characters from the The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship' I’m just curious.

Thank you very much! I will leave the Russian fairytale collection for a while, and there will be a big exhibition this Christmas in Saint-Petersburg. Maybe I'll return to it later, thanks for the advice!

Wow this is super well done, what an amazing sculpture! I love the face, especially the mouth. Very expressive :)

Thanks! I've mixed the faces of my fav Hammer actors like Peter Cushing, Cristopher Lee and the mouth belongs to Vincent Price =)

Yikes!!! :O Refresh my memory--was he granted immortality but not eternal youth?

Yes, Russian tales are very complex and puzzled - there is a theory that Koshey was actually a great warrior betrayed by his fellow commanders, and after spending 300 years in prison he has lost his mind and his name too,  so nickname Koshey means "slave" and "thin" at the same time. So he is an old fart, and he lives forever, but his death is hidden in an egg.

:D I read a story once about a troll who made this boy his slave; the only way to kill the troll was to find his heart, which was hidden inside a fish!

Yeah, that is a version of Koshey's death. His egg was hidden in a duck, a duck was hidden into a rabbit, and a rabbit was hidden in a chest hanging from an oak at the Buyan island.

It's like he was trying too hard to hide it!!
