Ed Plush

Ladies and gentlemen of the cul-de-sac, introducing my third plush creation: Ed from Ed Edd n Eddy!

The techniques are mostly the same as the ones I used to make my Double D Plush. One change I made between Double D and Ed was the decision to give Ed fingernails (the style in EEnE isn't terribly complicated so every little detail I could retain from the original designs has a big impact on the finished product) The fingernails and spots on Ed's head were made by sewing around the same general area about 6-10 times for variation of thickness. Each of the hairs on his head (about 30 of 'em) were sewn and turned individually then sewn between four separate yokes that make up the top of his head. His collar is reenforced with 1/8" foam and I couldn't be happier with how nicely it rolls. His jacket is also fully lined because Ed deserves better than facings. Again, removable pants (because edophile) to reveal a pair of underwear complete with name tag and embroidered soot-stains. I never thought I'd be in a position of hand painting zits on to a plush toy either but there you go. Overall, I was a lot less finicky with the sewing of Ed than I was with Edd so Ed would have a bit more naturally occurring asymmetry (Ed is very erratic and lose after all) I was also really conservative with stuffing this guy so hes really floppy and suuuuuper huggable.

Eddy is next but I might have to put him off for a bit to finish a few commissions and time sensitive personal projects but I'm dedicated to bringing the holy trinity of 90s cartoons to life!

I critiqued your previous plush, and am now seeing fit to critique this one. Here goes nothing:

Vision: Much the same as your previous plush, I can see that it was a really ambitious project for you, and it really paid off.

Originality: Well, I don't know what to say here, except that not many plushes have removable pants (so you can see the underwear underneath XD).

Technique: Pretty good, considering you're still a neophyte.

Impact: It really does look like Ed, and the fact you even gave him dirty underwear adds more to the effect.

Conclusion: Hope to see your Eddy plush soon, since the other two look great! <img src="…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
