I thought this was an interesting photo. It's so simple in its concept, but it caused me to feel something. The box, clearly the central focus of the photo, looks like it has a sad face, even a defeated one. And the title of the piece - The Day I Tried To Live - transforms this simple photo of a garbage bin with a box so much more.

It's as if the box in the garbage bin is symbolizing that no matter how hard we try to live, in the end we are still trash, thrown away and forgotten. It's a very depressing and hopeless concept, but it makes the photo that much more interesting. There is an emotion behind this piece, and it's causing me to feel sympathy for a thrown away cardboard box. Only well-executed technique and artistic skill can cause such a bizarre sensation.

Even without the title this photograph speaks for itself. Nice work .

Most of us are perfectly content to walk by a dumpster with an upside down cardboard box without even a glance... but you discover a hidden life form.

What a great picture to sum up the loss of so many of Seattle's finest.
I've had that song on my mind ever since it came out, some 20+ yrs ago. I guess that makes it my fave SG track. It certainly has a new darker and deeper meaning now. :(
Cheers for the tribute and, as usual, for the unique vision behind the lens. :ahoy:
