I’m a 24 year old Graphic Designer currently employed with an international production company specializing in architectural design applications. (Quite a mouthful ...) I’ve handled artwork for clients ranging from the Department of Homeland Security to Victoria’s Secret, and just about all points in between. The job pays the bills, but it’s a far reach from where I’d like to be in my career. Right now I’m working on my website and redesigning my portfolio and resume while looking to relocate to the Washington DC area. I’d like to work in print/publication design again, where I can take some creative freedoms with content and information - present things to the public in a different way - that’s where I have the most fun. Aside from that I’m always open to freelance work, which has been keeping me pretty busy as of late.
If you look at my gallery you’ll see I also extend my hand to illustration, photography, and other media. To me art is all about exploration - so if I pick up a tool and it doesn’t come to me right away, the challenge is almost as rewarding as the outcome. It also gives me an opportunity to blend different media in my work, which can be a challenge in and of itself.
Aside from work, I’m an avid reader/thinker, always on the quest for knowledge. If I’m lucky I’ve got 100 years on this planet, so I owe it to myself to learn as much as I can about its history, its wonders, and its splendors. I like to travel, make acquaintances of strangers, and just enjoy life. I’ve met the love of my life in a beautiful woman who enjoys the same things, and she’s as much my muse as my companion. In contrast to art and culture, I also enjoy turning wrenches (building/fixing things), mainly on my Jeep. When the weather’s right you’ll find a mountain bike strapped to the back of it; that is if you can find it/me at all. I spend as much time as I can out in the woods, down by the river, up in the mountains, out in the fields. I grew up on a farm and despite loving art, culture, and the urban sprawl, my hands are permanently calloused and my feet are firmly planted in Southern soil.
I joined DeviantArt to see what other artists are up to - to gain inspiration and offer feedback - and also to display some of my personal work in hopes of inspiring others and receiving some feedback of my own. Please ‘favorite’ anything you’d like, feel free to ‘watch’ me, and by all means comment on my work.
