Sunrise by martoo1973 Sunrise by martoo1973
Yesterday I was fascinated by the colors of the evening sky. Actually I wanted to paint a sunset, but I had another idea. I will do 2 paintings one called "Sunrise" and one "Moonrise", so here is the first one... "Sunrise".

Done with acrylics, ink, watercolor and airbrush on paper. Format is B4

The simplicity, yet the beauty and emotion behind the piece is breathtaking - gorgeous work :)

This is great! Those two things (Fuji & crane) bring us to a Japanese world in your painting. I'm looking forward to seeing the other one you are working on soon!

:aww: thank you so much !!! I love to paint Japanese motives. :D
I just bought a book of traditional Japanese art and can look at the patterns and forms all the time :aww:
I hope I can paint the other one soon. I'm a little busy this week, because I have to go to Tokyo to renew my German passport, but I hope I can finish it next week.

Konnichiwa Julia-san,

I'm so glad to hear that you seemed to have enjoyed your stay in Tokyo! As I'm in the same situation as you (I'm a permanent resident in Canada and I've just finished to renew my status), I totally understand how stressful & troublesome to do that. Hope you are resting & feel at ease with your family now!

Today the weather is great. So we can go to the forest and pick mushrooms たぶんラクヨウがあります。
I would love to cook Nabe with it for dinner today :D
We also need to buy tsurishinbun... maybe we can catch the first Hokke soon.

Oh and I bought a wonderful book about flowerpainting with watercolor in Tokyo. It explains the technique so we,, I can understand without reading (it's Japanese). I'm not a watercolor-artist, but I always love to read and study diffetent techniques, which I can "translate" into my style. If you like, I can scan the cover, so you can maybe check it out at amazon?
How is your Autumn?

Konnichiwa Julia-san,

Great to hear from you, always! I hope you had a great time in the forest with your beloveds!

I love Nabes very much, too! They are the perfect food to warm up in winter, aren't they? :-)

I'm very interested in the book you bought in Tokyo. Do you mind sending me the picture of the cover? Thank you very much for your kind offer!

Here in Vancouver, it's getting colder and colder day after day. This morning, I noticed that there were some snow on the top of the mountains!! Winter is just around the corner!

Please take good care of yourself and I hope your exhibitions next year will be a big success! (I am sure it will be!)

Thank you so much Masa-san :)
Yes, the mushroom-hunt was a success today and we had a great soup with Rakuyou and numerisugitakemodoki. I ate them for the very first time and it was delicious.
In Germany, people eat Rakuyou, but nobody knows Numerisugitakemodoki is edible at all, because it does not fit with European cooking. That was very interesting for me. It really tasted great.
You can check the pictures in my Blog if you like :D

Have a great weekend !!!

thanks... still need some more time for it though... I was so busy last week to submit all documents for a new German passport and I had to go to the embassy in Tokyo (450 miles from here). But all went well and now I can hopefully relax a little.
I really enjoyed my stay in Tokyo, despite all this, because I could meet all my wonderful friends there. We had a great time and went shopping together and I bought a nice art-book about flower-painting. Can't wait to learn from it :D

That does sound a bit stressful!
I'm glad there were no issues ^.^.
Yay! Friends are always good . And I can't wait to see what you learn from your book too! I've never been good at painting, so I enjoy it more when others share what they learn :lmao:.
