I have decided to try and alter his armour, to move as far away from Warhammer 40,000 as possible, while keeping it looking like a futuristic panoply. Please offer your critiques.

whew, I just noticed this now. Is his weapon still the same?
The armor still kinda has warhammer 40k vibe. Especially the combination of shoulder armor, bulky body, and emblem on the chest armor directed my mind to certain warhammer promotional image. But at the same time he also reminds me some Warcraft character(that also looks like Warhammer but medieval version) thanks to his cape. But I personaly think he looks more of Warcraft than Warhammer.
This maybe sounds rich coming from me. there is nothing wrong if your OC design resembles some characters in other stories. as long as their core essence is different.
you've been viewing my desolate gallery, and if you notice, they said some of my design looks like Loki, Assassins Creed, etc. The people who commission me those design doesn't bothered by those comment. Because he knew that their essence is different.
