MY SATISFACTORY AND SANGUINE LIFE

I'm a recalcitrant guy. A defiant, stubborn and rebellious individual, but one that loves making photographs. Photography provides a wonderful form of communication, and through my website and of course DA I have established some splendid friends, and rekindled the zest, creativity and imagination that forms the fundamentals of my work.

Today, creating good imagery through digital photography is very satisfying. Gone are the days of expensive films, chemicals, and a great deal of hope. Success in capturing exactly what was intended as the shutter closes comes from planning and attending to detail. I tend to be on one hand relying on serendipity and spontaneity, and on the other administering to carefully resolving minutia. I guess this maybe why shoots become relaxed affairs. Many photographs result in great satisfaction and receiving wonderful comments is wonderful. This in turn brings great relief to me, and a modicum of achievement. I never cease to learn something new each day, and never tire of making photographs.

An irreverent eye and a penchant for using available light some say my photographs are absorbing and generous, others say I deceit spectators with a delicate and refined play of the imagination. Still others consider my work is crap, and I can live with that too. What really annoys me is folk that offer critique when they do not own a camera and don't display any photographs on any websites whatsoever.
