Everybody knows that SuperVillains' team-ups are always bound to end bad, as one of the villains can't resist betraying the other.
Too bad that Mabus, here, looks as surprised as the Great Old One by the turn of events!

Final commentary from Filip:

Panel 1: the jackal headed guys are keepers of the Wheel's balance, so they are pretty much useless.
They are also a reference to Ancient Egypt's deities (as Tarots are supposed to come from Egypt).

panel 6: It is (literally) the final curtain for Great Old One and the end of this chapter.
