GET A LIFE!
EPISODE 30: THAT WHICH IS NOT DEAD (3)
STORY FOLDER << PREV < PAGE 1 > NEXT
Art by Filip Cerovecki
Story & lettering by Franco Villa
Edits by Cristian Di Biase & Luca Salvadei
English edits by Zac De Board
NOTES
Original art.
Continuing from where we left off, the Great Old One just forced Diana Lombard into doing his will... but what does he want?
The Astral Plane first appeared in "Ultimatum a New York" (Speciale Martin Mystère n. 7), possibky as a tribute to Marvel Comics' Doctor Strange, a character whose series inspired some key details of the development and origin of Martin Mystère. We talked about that in this (Italian only) article: Il mistero degli strani vampiri.
This episode of Get a Life! features the special behind-the-scenes by the artist: as the story unfolds, a "commentary" is carried along by the Astral Plane forces, which reflect the events as a mirror would do.
The Tarots are the theme that Filip chose to exploit for his parallel story told through images and symbols.
Panel 1: Inside the Gateway/Portal to the Astral Plane, two pillars can be seen.
They are the pillars from the "High Priestess" Tarot card, which indicate it is a special place.
(One pillar is black, the other is white).
Panel 3: the Great Old One's robe is decorated by pentacle symbols which symbolise his craft and wealth.
