So, a girl I recently met told me she wanted me to paint a mermaid and my boss agreed, so here it is :3 I tried not to make it too similar to the topic and cliche. She's supposed to be the fish as well, some kind of alter ego. I wanted to make her a little bit mysterious and with a yellow glow under her face as if she's hiding something.

Painted in about 48 hours (6 days of work) in Photoshop CS4. It was reaaaaaaaaally time-consuming since it's a huge canvas (6500x10000px at 300dpi).

Background is some kind of blurry matte painting.

Umm.. I'm starting to miss my digital impressionism!
