A couple of notable milestones occurred during the last year:

I turned 50.  Apparently you're only as young as you feel.  Which would make me 55!  *sigh*

In July I chalked up 100,000 page views.  I think I would have done it sooner but there was a large chunk of time where I was seriously inactive on the site.  Not a good time for a lot of reasons....



In November I upgraded my camera for the first time since I bought my Sony Alpha 100 in January 2007.
The Sony Alpha 55: It rocks!
With a number of interesting new features that make the old Alpha look... well... old!
Including:
16 mega pixels
10 frames per second maximum.
Sweep panorama
Face recognition
Smile shutter release (the shutter releases everytime the subject smiles – My flatmate's 3 year old girl went absolutely nuts over that one!
A top ISO rating of 12800 (Who on God's green Earth would need an ISO of 12800!)
The ability to shoot short videos in HD....
...amongst many others (including firmware upgrades available from the Sony site.  Haven't used that one yet.  I want to play with the 'old' firmware before I experiment.
This is an SLR mind you...
Way cool!  I've taken it on a couple of outings so far and I think I'm in love!  Lol!


I've done a lot less journals this year.  There are probably some (most?) of you who will see this as a blessing!
So I've previewed a lot less shoots.  Which is why I've waited awhile to post my latest.  I wanted to time it with/after this latest journal.

A slight difference to my usual set of s  The original idea was to go through all the faves I'd picked over the years and post my best 20-30.  Oh My!  The first year I managed to chalk up over 1300!  When I started cutting it down I was distressed to see the number of artists that had left, been banned or otherwise become inactive on DA!  Still: It was impossible to cut it down to less than 10 a year:
