I really need to upload more stuff on deviantART again, so I might as well upload a collage of the "portrait" art I've done for one of my Nuzlocke video series over on Twitch (and later uploaded to YouTube), my Y Wonderwedlocke
series. Whoooo man was that one a doozy! Definitely one of the most challenging I've done, but it was also neat sharing the adventure with people tuning in and sending Pokémon via Wonder Trade.
As for the art, there's a story behind it for sure, and one of the most important things about it is that it was so, so rushed and I had to delay the final stream (the Elite Four fights) for about an hour or so just so I could finish. Because of that, I feel disappointed in some of the art of the Pokémon, but some of them turned out really well.
how Jawsome and Mogelbaum turned out! Their art is so perfect for them, with Jawsome looking, well, awesome with the shades and everything, and Mogelbaum trying to copy him like a Sudowoodo would do (try say "Sudowoodo would do" a few times fast
). Gabe Newell (was literally named that, praise Gaben) also turned out pretty well and different enough from Squash.
But ugh, I can't express enough disappointment in how poorly I drew Fiora and Pokey. I'm so sorry.
Fiora is just... inexcusably bad. I don't know why it was so tough drawing Flygon! This was about
a year and a half
two years ago (wow time flies), but ehhhh, hopefully next time I will do better!
Also, fun fact: this is the first time I've drawn one of my Nuzlocke teams that weren't
all (generally) facing towards the left or top left. Why is that? It's actually due to where they were on the layout! I've previously drawn all of them so they were facing the screen, since the art was shown on the right-hand side of my layout while the screen was taking up most of the left-hand side. But for the Y Wonderwedlocke series, my team was displayed on the bottom throughout the series, so they're all sort of intended to be looking towards the center of the screen, with Fiora and Pokey on the far left, Jawsome and Mogelbaum in the center, and Journey on the far-right (sort of like this, except they were next to each other in the layout). That's always been a fun fact throughout my series and might clear things up if you were ever wondering why it seemed like most of my "portrait" art always faced that direction! (Or maybe you never noticed
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy seeing this collage of the team that both came from and went Around The World! Drawn in November 2014 by Marriland
