This is a new piece I sculpted for Sideshow Collectibles. "Queen of the Dead" from their new original line 'Court of the Dead'.
I just was revealed at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. This was painted by the extremely talented, top in the industry, Kat Sapene.
The fabric work was done by Sideshow's Tim Hanson, and photographed by Sideshow's Ginny Guzman. 1:4 scale premium format. Offered for
pre order soon at the Sideshow Collectibles website.

Hey mark, that's a beautiful piece ! Great work ! I saw that one on the last Son Of Monsterpalooza event :)

Is it based on an illustration?
it looks familiar.. maybe the illustration is based on the statue.. I'm not sure who came first

There was a loose design drawing I was given a few months before San Diego Comic Con to get a sculpt done to have ready for the con. The other illustrations came afterward to support and solidify the concept so the sculpture came first. There is much more in the "Court of the Dead" line coming down the pike from Sideshow. It's one of Sideshow original concept lines conceived by the creative director Tom Gilliland.

yeah this is amazing work done by all. I sat and stared at this statue for several minutes before I even noticed the little demon under her robe. Wonderful piece of work!
