Hello,
I would like to feature your great image on my visual arts blog on Amazing Stories - [link] - credited and with a link back to the image on DA, of course!
The blog is scheduled for Wednesday, 17 August - you'll be able to find it by following the link above.
Please let me know if this is NOT ok with you! :) Thanks, and keep up the good work!

No problem Astrid, nice looking blog site. I certainly can't
complain about lack of notice, can I?! ;) Thanks, and I will! :D

Convincing ruined city effect. There even seems to be mounted cameras and a transport vessel or two.

Thanks! :D Aha, you spotted the surveillance system then?! ;)

Interesting - have you tried animatiing it? A claustrophobic world to explore I think!

Thanks GrannyOgg - love the username btw!! ;) An animation of this would be lovely, but totally impractical for me to attempt, as this render took around 12 hours to complete! :pc:

I really like what you do but I've always wondered (and excuse me if it's a silly question but I don't understand a thing about fractals) if you have something in mind you want to do or if you start making random things and then you try to find something inside it that makes sense. What I can't understand is how you picture something in your mind and then translate it to math. Because that's what a fractal is, isn't it?

Oddly enough Sofia, I just attempted to answer a similar 'question' from a rather odd - but ok! - 'fractal poet' called weaversss regarding another of my pieces. So I'll quote from my reply:

'I operate on a purely intuitive level when I'm creating fractart. I'm in no way a mathematician or scientific type. I'm left handed and right brained, which I guess lets me intermittently and momentarily 'switch off' my frontal cortex and allows my superior temporal gyrus (:phew:) to alert me to reaching the 'sweet-spot' during a fractal exploration: 'Horizon' BBC2 14/3/13! ;)
I approach fractals as landscapes or environments that require sympathetic treatment when the time comes for colour and light to be applied, and once again my right brainedness (?) comes into play for this crucial part of the creative process.'

The software itself allows one to be creative without having to really understand the quite complex mathematics involved, so credit is due to the very excellent 'Mandelbulb 3D', hurrah!! :w00t:
I thank you!

That sounds like something really interesting to do! It doesn't compare to what most of us do :P
Thanks so much for the reply =)

I'd like to hear form the artist on this question too.

Thanks Mark, your artistic talents are highly part of the process, me thinks.
