Pencils: Chris Bachalo
Hey Mark,, I've been testing my colours on some of Chris and Tim's work. If you ever fancy a collab, give me a shout
Great work, dood
Great work, dood
I'm loving this run of Dr. Strange. What type of ink do you use? (If you don't mind me asking.)
Posted on my front page, no worries! I mix my own. FW, Koh-I-Noor Universal, and Pelikan, proprietary mix!
Enormous!! I like it!!
great work, the scanner is doing a number on your smooth lines. I like seeing the differences between your inks and townsend.
And thanks on mentioning Tim- he's the standard we're all chasing on this book!
I had the pleasure of talking with him on a number of topics outside of inking and he sounds like a great person in general. His inking skills are obviously master level. If you ever get a chance to look at my inks and give me some feedback I would appreciate it.
Tim's a great guy, Scott Williams too. Most inkers are, lol! I took a look at your page and would say, in general, you're a bit heavy handed. Some of the feathering looks too thick and doesn't always follow the form. Otherwise, clean and pretty on point. Keep at it!
Thanks for your input. you are probably busy meeting deadlines, but if you ever have a chance of showing the difference between being heavy handed vs correct technique, I would appreciate it. I have an annoying hand tremor, so I may be compensating for it. thank you sir.
Hmmm- that might be tough to show unless I did a demo or something, which probably won't ever happen. My best suggestion is to try taking a look at all your lines, and see if you can lighten (or thin) them all by half- literally go 50% lighter on everything, then check those results.
Thanks- yeah, not happy with what I've seen of the printed work, but what the heck, gotta get paid...
