Hell yeah! Props to you both... Love how the detail of the top half carries down into the simplicity and flat black of the bottom panel. I know this took a lot of concentration.

And I love that you guys are using the blacks that way rather than leaving them open to be over-rendered. Very cool!

Thanks man! There is a lot of rendering on these pages, but it all makes sense, which is cool. Zach really knows what he's doing; he's a smart artist!

ah hell, thats a beautiful page, something about the tiny aliens in panel 2 is just as creepy as the closeup. you and zach gotta put out a bootleg version of the book in B+W.

Brush and 102. Ever use Artist's 100, Mapping 103 and 104 (is that called a tit quill?)?

I don't use them; they don't work for me, or for the type of lines I normally make. I will use a 107 occasionally, but haven't had the need to in quite some time.

Are you saying that you're not facile with them- and it's not worth the effort to become so? Or that despite facility, they are yet ill suited to the tasks at hand?

question: how come you don't fill out the whole drawing area when you ink Zach's pages? is there any special reason?

?? Not sure what you mean. Zach pencils slightly smaller proportion-wise that the usual 10x15; maybe that's what you're referring to?
