it doesnt take much thought to work out that jousting was one of man's original extreme sports.....
Here, Sir William DeMaynard take a blow to his shield and had little distance between his eyes and the broken lance (right of frame) the blow of which injured him and caused a withdrawal from the remainder of the jousting. His gorgeous, well tempered former racehorse is Zenubia.

Sorry Tamara, if you want to chose another of my jousting pics, then let me know, but this one is being used on a commercial basis already so I do not want for my clients to see variations of this on the web anywhere.

There are a few hundred jousting shots on my website. If you pic out another we'll work out if there is a licensing issue and if not, then there should be no hassle providing you link back to my page anywhere you post it.

thankyou :) Kinda surprising I bothered with the caption as all I do all day now is edit captions for archiving for a statewide newspaper. It'd be cool if DA would add drop down IPTC boxes for the subject codes here! :giggle: oh man I need sleep. lol

HAHA :D That was more in reference to the archiving than the process. I have worked in libraries for years.

I love shots like this, it gets my blood racing, I miss watching jousting, it is more than other extreme sports, its something we can only really play with, we have nothing of the thrill that you get because of modern medicine, not that I am complaining, its not life or death, honour and shame.

Beautiful.
