So, I have been a bit stuck as of late, you know, not really in a drawing mood, can't come up with an idea that is remotely interesting, etc.
So, anyways, I was sketching on this request idea, of a belly-dancer, then something clicked and I found myself going from sketch to more in depth shading... Apparently, I was getting a little mojo back.
Then, My wife says: "Why don't you record yourself drawing. You spend so much time watching other artists on YouTube, why don't you make some of your own?"
Ok, my initial reaction was Cringing... I had a funny face that hearkens back to master Sifu in Kung-Fu Panda, you know the one, when Po asks him how he is going to make him the Dragon Warrior?
Anyway, in the end I went "Fine!", kind of determined to show her that it would fail terribly... well, maybe not intentionally, but I was not overly optimistic about it. Armed with my Iphone, steel wire, a cheap Ipad holder (which I wrecked) and an idea, I set up my drawing desk, and began filming the shading process of the belly-dancer. that was a little over 3 weeks ago, and I am still drawing AND I just finished recording my 3rd video. That isn't saying I am very good at it, but it IS fun, and I am learning as I go. The most important thing is, I am drawing again and thanks to my wife kicking me into shark infested waters, I also have a reason to keep drawing.
