Hello I’m here on the behalf of :iconprojectcomment:
I am really impressed by what I see here, it’s a work of great complexity that required all of my attention to be critiqued in the right way.
Composition: You played a lot with symmetry and asymmetry, putting the girls, the doors and the elements in some kind of symmetric composition without really copying it from right to left. I also like a lot how all the elements in the background do not disturb that much the vision of the main subject. The only thing I would have something to say about is the position and size of the writings: they are in my opinion too little and get lost in the background.
Colors: the colors are the most outstanding part of the whole. They are pastel like, delicate yet cheerful and convincing. The fact that you stocked to the same hues and tones gives the piece a sense of unity and internal coherence. Moreover, they are strange colors to be seen together (pink, purple and orange). But this hazard paid very well.
Style: It reminds me so much of Ojamajo Doremi! It’s so cute and fluffy and maybe kawaii that is impossible not to appreciate some details like the smooth and curvy lines of the hair, the round eyes and the style you adopted for their feet. So simple, but it works so well. Going into detail I think that having a colored outline is always a winning card and you not only have a coloured lineart, you also have different colors for different areas. And also a kind of orange halo around the girls.
A few things more: technically speaking I love this piece, and I also noticed a subtle pattern underneath everything. There are a few imprecisions: in the violet girl’s hair there are some little points where I can see the orange beneath. This also happens in the skirt. And, in addition, there are some strange imprecisions in the outline.

For the rest everything is impressive and I’m so glad I came across your work! Keep up with it!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I read them countless times and they make me really really happy!!!
I never saw my style as Doremi-like, but I'm glad it looks like it to someone, since it's a style I love~

As for the "holes" in the colouring, it was my goal to make it look like a crayon drawing, which has holes where you can see the background colours. Maybe I should have made both girls with the same ammount of holes, so I'll keep that in mind the next time I do anything like this!

Thank you once again for your lovely comment <3

Hey, I'm from ProjectComment.

I really like the style and color scheme. The style is super adorable and the elements of the image work well together. The style helps unify all of the things of the picture, so that the image looks like a complete scene and not a cluster of random images. The colors you picked don't clash and actually fit quite well together. The colors also work with the style to unify the whole scene. I also love the soft texture of the image. It almost looks like a really soft paper or cloth, and that texture is fitting with the style and imagery you have.

For the style, the shape of everything and the anatomy of the girl's looks right. Nothing in the image looks distorted in a way it isn't meant to be. The flow of the hair and dress of each character also makes sense in the scene. You also do a pretty decent job communicating form with what little bit of shape your image has. The main flaw is that the image doesn't communicate depth that well. I can tell that some images in the background are further away, but it doesn't look like they are further away by much. The lack of clear depth communication makes the background look flat.

The biggest flaw in the entire image is how the main characters blend into the background somewhat. The glow around the characters helps keep them from feeling like a part of the background, but the characters don't pop from the background either. The color scheme, saturation, brightness, and focus of the main characters matches the background too well. For the characters to pop more, you'd have to alter one of these (characters having a warmer color scheme, higher saturation or brightness, or more focus than the background). Of course, the difference doesn't need to be drastic, but a slight difference can draw the eye to the characters so much better. Here's a good example of you making the character pop from the background: marikyuun.deviantart.com/art/d… Alternatively, you could give the main characters thicker lines to make them pop from the background more.

Overall, you did a fantastic job. There are very few flaws in this and I love the imagery. Keep up the good work!

Thank you sooo much for your comment!! I read it throughoutly and I will give your words some thought on my next "complex" pieces, even though some of the flaws you mentioned were done on purpose (the background looking flat, everything having the same importance - characters and background). I will definitely remember your words whenever my goal is to make the characters stand out more or make deeper backgrounds!

Thank you once again for taking the time to look at and analyze my artwork!

You're welcome. I didn't realize the "flaws" were intentional, but I'm glad I could help you out for future art. I wish you luck in future work.
