Hello!! I'm from ProjectComment

First thing first, OMG this is so awesome!!   Okay, I'll need to comment on this before reading others comments, seems like there are so much spoiler alert down there hahaha.

I got tons of stories at first glance from this picture! Just one looks and its told a lot.

I really like the concept of, hero under the mask, hidden identities here. Those girls are so clearly the magical girl in the poster. But in the end of the day, there are also living as a normal girls too, going to school, walking home with friends, hanging out and such. Though their other identity, the magical girl's role, are under the spotlight, their private identity are not. And the girls sure likes it this way, like they just walk pass the big poster of themselves with no big deals!

And my favorite part is, the girl in the middle are looking and waving at me as it to say "please keep it a secret  "

I also like the details of each character, how their uniforms are different, the key-chains, walking stances, those little things adds up to their character so well! I really like it that the girls comes from different school, based on their uniform, their are at least from 3 different schools! Which is so good! Meaning they bonds are not from classmate or school based, it was something else, which is the magical girls!

I seriously have noting to suggest really. The story are great, the composition is lovely, the color and lighting is really nice. But what I loved the most are the details and thoughts you put it these character. Those small, minor details like different shoes, skirts, key chains. Adds a lot more in to the story and the character which made this drawing so much alive!

Oh, I might have one alternative composition. With a larger view, there could be some people passing by. Just the silhouette, so the attention will remains with the girls. It would enhance the concept of hidden identity even more, mixing in the crowds. But I think this simple composition suits your style pretty well. So, I'm not quite sure of a busier one, but it should be really nice.

The only thing I could not understand is the Japanese text lol. Please tell me what does it mean, I'm really, truly interested and wanted to know!

By the way, I loved how you put your signature in this one, pretty smart hehehe...

Ps I'm trying really hard to chose my favorite girl here but I just can't! They are all too cute omg

Thank you so much for your sweet comment!
I really like your interpretation of this drawing, as it was what I had in mind, including Aiko's little wave and wink haha!! Yes, they go to 3 different schools and their ages are also different!

I really like your idea of having more people around to make them stand out more! When I imagined this piece, I decided to keep them alone because I wanted it to have some sort of "late-hour" feel, even though they are wearing their school uniforms. I think adding more people to the actual comic pages and making them stand out will work very well, so thanks for the suggestion!!

As for the Japanese text, I wrote some random cheesy things that came to mind LOL The story takes place in Japan, or at least somewhere where Japanese is the official language (2 of the girls aren't Japanese tho).

On the right screen, above my signature (I like making it look like part of the drawing whenever I can) it says "Web Comic" in katakana.

On the middle screen, it says "いつもみんなの近くにいる" which roughly translates to "(we) are always close to everyone" on the right, and "任せておいて" which means "leave it to us!" on the left. The bottom says something anime advertisements usually have, which is the date and time of next episode's broadcast haha! It was just a little joke, as this story is highly influenced by magical girl anime.

On the left screen, It took me a while to make it out because the text is cropped and I don't remember what I wrote LOL! But I'm pretty sure it says "みんなを守る", meaning "we will protect everyone". Those sentences really do not say anything special and were there more for aesthetic reasons tbh!

I'm happy you like my art and characters, so please keep your eyes peeled for when I start posting the comic here! ^O^

Oh, I was just curious of what the texts says, I know that it there for an aesthetic purpose but still curious LOL Thanks for the answer tho!

Really loved the advertisement poster btw. The layouts are pretty clear that I could tell it is some sort of entertainment media related, without knowing what the text mean.
And it's pretty funny when you got the real stars of the show themselves walking pass by, without anyone knowing that they are actually the real star.

Also, nice uses of fonts, they are very well chosen! This is such a fun picture to look at!
Will be looking forward to your comics and other drawings!!  Kao Emoji-25 (You're the star) [V2]

You know, I almost don't even know why you'd need to submit this to :iconprojectcomment:, because it's so beautiful and professional, and people have commented on it already! BUT the Comments are all short, and at least one of those people came from Project Comment because if it, :3 so yeah... this deserves a longer one!
It's a little harder still to give a longer Comment, though because the description is short so I dunno what happened.

I really like to talk more on art IDEAS on pieces like this, rather than things like lines or shading or such, and the IDEA of this is GREAT! This would make a great promotional piece!
This isn't just a generic promo. An amazing bit gets said with this, and I have to wonder how you came up with this idea! It's so full of color and meaning and explanation, and it's so concise in spite of all that! SERIOUSLY, and idea of this calibur could promote a Hollywood movie, because, to be honest, most actual real animes don't have promotional art as artistically interesting :painter: as this.

I love how they're like alteregos walking home past their powered up selves, like they save the world as idols or something by day and then go home to be girl at night or something.
And your use of colors to communicate is amazing. The girls in the front get attention for being in the front, but the big bright picture shows how important and colorful their other lives are. :pills: It's also neat how this way the girls can be both shadows in the dark, AND still show them in color at the same time, and the eye is drawn to all.
I kinda have to ask about the framing you picked, as those really bright signs on the sides draw my attention side to side across the piece, like a bouncing ball because they're bright.

That pink text is really difficult to read and begs you to read it, and I bet it's intentionally hard to read because it's supposed to look like magic passing through the girls, but it's the title.
This doesn't exactly give you the personalities of each one of them, but it gives you enough information to guess, and shows that no matter what their personalities are, they all have a flamboyant side they can show even if it's only onstage. There's a lot of blanks you can fill in or draw with these characters from this. :community:

Another odd thing is that I can't tell who the main character is. That's kind of awesome, because groups like this always seem to still look like there's a main one, but in this picture they're all evened out. I wanted to say the second from right looks like she's definitely not the main, but then when I look at the background it looks like she is. Meaning I can't tell! :dummy: And I was going to say that there's one in the middle waving, and that the picture seems to even them all out, importance-wise, because the one in the middle is... the big one... and the big one can't be the main one, right? :O_o: Nobody does that! :XD: So the one front and center not appearing to be the main one really makes them look all the more even in their importance. The background picture helps with this too, making it so maybe a character you thought was more the leader actually is lesser than you thought, or one- like in my case- that you thought wasn't the star could actually be.

It's also neat that the fat one isn't fat, but is bigger because the others are super skinny.

Hi! Thank you so much for writing such a delightful comment! It was a pleasure to read <333

I am so glad you got every single detail that I wanted people to get from this piece LOL!

A VERY QUICK SUMMARY OF THE STORY:
These 5 girls are normal middle and high-schoolers who are "chosen" by the royalty of an alien planet to protect a very precious type of crystal (CMYQ) and are given the powers to transform into magical girls and fight other aliens who want those crystals for themselves.

I didn't want people to realise who the main character is, because I want every girl to have her own time to shine. However, this group is divided into 2 smaller groups for the story, even though they sometimes work together as one big group.

The "main group" is composed of the 3 girls to the left (on the back picture), meaning the purple, green and blue girls. You can see their character sheets in the related drawings on the description of this deviation, btw! Those 3 are 14 and 15 years old.

The "secondary group" is composed of the remaining two girls, who are older (17): the pink and yellow girls. They don't appear as frequently as the other 3 girls, but they are as important as them. Both the yellow girl (chubbier) and the pink girl are taller than the rest, but you don't really notice it in this picture because the pink one has really bad posture hehe!

So yeah, here is some information about my comic!
I'm a bit sad it doesn't really criticize any technical parts of the drawing, but I'm happy at the same time, because it means you think I did a good job ^O^ so thank you!!!!!!!

That's really a neat story.

It's also kinda cool that I actually picked up all the details! :XD:
I think it really helps to have that much detail behind a picture, and so even if a person doesn't consciously pick every piece up, it's still there, making sense and making the picture better.

I couldn't critique the picture in technical ways because I just don't have the skill to be able to critique something at this level. Especially something so well executed.

Also, the thing though I didn't add before was that I couldn't look at this without being reminded of the nice comic art by Kevin Bolk. :XD: I just could not look at that bright picture in the background and not think of him. :XD: Sorry. ^^ :forgiveme:
