This is an exceptional food image, of an exquisitely prepared dessert candy or pastry. The color balance is very good, and I would think (not having seen the actual candy), fairly true to the subject. I assume that ambient lighting was used but that it was fairly bright (?). Otherwise, having a bit more control over the lighting might have been helpful as the light source coming from upper right has gone from providing highlights and sparkle on the sugar to too intense reflection and loss of color and detail along the elevated diagonal lines. Speaking of the diagonal lines, these are very well placed, creating interest and mild tension for the viewer, adding compositional interest beyond the mere appeal of the candy itself. Perhaps some experimentation with longer exposure and smaller aperature might have been tried to increase the depth of field. Given the current settings, using the foremost part of the pecan as the area of sharpest focus, seems to me to have been the best artistic choice. This is a appealing image, keep up the good work!

This shot really highlights the pecan nut. I love it. If this is another version of a pecan pie then I must admit. This look's appetizing. Even now I'm looking for pecan pie Anyways to the grades then. Vision wise, it's a bit blurry I guess. But other than that it's ok. Originality, I haven't seen anything like it yet. So this is my 1st time looking to something so unique. Impact, Hit me pretty hard. I'm starting to look for pecan's to make pecan pie now! Curse you! Hahaha I'm just kidding. Technique, I simply don't understand the layer's... Are the cups plastic, paper, chocolate then the filling and the pecan? It's like inception in a cup great job. I admire this piece of work. I might put up my coffee shop soon Keep taking great photo's and keep making great food.
