Falcarius utahensis

Okay, this isn't the only thing I've produced in a year, but it's the only digital work that seems even remotely finished, and that hasn't been deleted by the muro monster. I'm pretty happy with how this Falcarius came out, though maybe I should have thought better before posing it as if it were calling, because I have now read that syrinx-vocalization depends on clavicular air sacks, which are present only in ornithothoracines. The featherless feet might also be iffy, as Matt Martyniuk's recent post on the subject says. However since this drawing contains small remiges, and since Concavenator seems to have had scuta, it might be not so implausible after all.
I'm also rather okay with how my first attempt at digi-painting a scene- and not just an animal in a blank space- came out. The tree (meant to be a podocarp), the hills and the sky are things I'm pretty happy with, while the ferns and cycads were added in the last few hours, as was the horrendous, vomit-like ground, which is something I'm definitely not proud of.
Whatever the actual quality of this work, I'm putting it here because otherwise I wouldn't feel like having finished it. I'm happy that I learned several things while doing this, anyway, and I hope to learn to integrate them properly in more consistently decent paintings.
