This is a 3D model I started in early 2006 as a laser scanned CAD model. The goal then was just to design a new swingarm and some various parts for my real bike. I took it a little further and scanned the bodywork and engine and did a few renderings of it. I recently decided to revisit the project as something to do on my Twitch stream, and redid the tank and bodywork and then continuing on to other parts that needed a boost in realism. Including modeling the welds on the swingarm and stitching on the seat.
Original model done in Rhino3D with Nurbs, based on laser scan data from a FARO Scanarm. New modeling done in 3DSMax 2014 as subdivided polygon meshes. Rendered in Waxwell Render out of Rhino3D.
