___

as you might know, I'm playing lots of poker lately. And yesterday evening, I had a strong feeling to use some colors. So today I decided to test the whole thing. As you might have recognized, this is my first work with color, which I have also uploaded in my gallery.

Nicely done. I like how something so simple can look so arty. :)

Like the blending of the colours and the rougher texture. Not sure about the ace though - I don't like the brown line round it. If you did the painting again, you could always paint a background and then an ace, then superimpose the ace on top - I think this might be better, and you could do a bit of blurring using a graphics program. I think this could go from 6 to 8.

thank you so much for all your comments and interpretation. And I can appease you: It is paint, more precisely watercolour :)

Nice to see the power of a stroke on canvas. Leaves a good texture. Warmth surrounds the heavy black spade dry brush (as in the heavy stroke) the edges to soften the top and leaving the under edge hard is affective within more of the white of the canvas showing through. I think thats whats going on there.
